First trip here for a Saturday night stay. Stayed in a diamond room (part of Harrah's Total Rewards program) for a comped stay. Room was nice with a large bathroom and extra large tub, king bed and small sofa and chair. The TV, drawers, refrigerator and closet were all built into the wall and housed behind doors. It did make the room seem a bit narrow, although it was still probably about 12 feet wide. Missing was any type of table and chair for in-room dining. Room service had to be set up on the small coffee table. No place to do anything you would normally do on a table or desk. Avoid the buffet. Very poor. Tried it about 6 pm thinking it would be the freshest. Nearly everything looked as if it had been out for hours. Baked and roasted potatoes that looked like aligator skin, luke warm catfish strips, undercooked chicken, the only carved meat was brisket and there was only about a 2 inch thick piece left on the board which the guy was trying to carve into enough for the 6 people in line. Wait staff was courteous but distant. First half-eaten plate was removed while I was back at the buffet but no new fork and no iced tea refill. The steak house appeared to be good but I didn't have reservations. Ended up leaving most of the buffet meal uneated and eventually ordered room service burger which was very good. Had an omelet the next morning from room service and was also excellent. Casino is smoke-filled and far from a vegas feel. The machines are the same or similar and the employees are the same for the most part but 98% of the VP machines are short pay. Much of the casino has been converted to TITO cashless payouts but a number of machines remain that have the noisy clunking payouts, many of them in the high limit area. Overall, trip was OK but would not likely do it again.
