Best place to climb on John Deere machinery A large exhibit at the John Deere administrative center is a better place to climb on large and small John Deere machinery than the pavilion in downtown Moline. The administrative center has everything from riding mowers to massive dump trucks and combines, more than 30 pieces, and almost no restrictions on what you can climb on. I was surprised that it was ok to climb the 7 foot ladder to reach the cab of a dump truck. No easy-to-climb stairs like those at the downtown paviliion. Here you get into the equipment just like the driver. We went on a Saturday afternoon in April and I don't think there were every more than 6 other people in the place at any time. My son and I spent 2 hours there, and left only because they closed.

Bike ride along the banks of the Mississippi Rent from the old train depot in Davenport, W River Drive and N Harrison Street (Hwy 61) ,or at the visitor center (another old train depot) in Moline, 2021 River Dr. You can use the water taxi, $5 each way, to cross the Mississippi and ride along the river in Illinois and/or Iowa.
