Had our car broken into and everything stolen. Police told us that they respond to 5-10 auto break-ins at that hotel's parking garage every week. There is no security guards or cameras so it's a burglar's banquet.

Front desk refused to help us and some guy who works in the boiler room tried to pass himself off as a security guard until we asked him for some ID.

Stay far, far away.

Stayed here for business earlier this week. I spend about 2 weeks a month on the road and travel throughout the Midwest for work.

The good: It's attached to our office building there so it wasn't a far walk, and it was attached to a mall.

The bad:
Checked in and went to the room, I always check the sheets first thing. The sheets were stained and gross and had hair on them. I looked around the room and the carpet was stained and had holes in it and the hand towels in the bathroom were stained too. I went down to the desk and asked for another room. They apologized and sent me up to the floor where their Starwood preferred members stay. So, again, I check the sheets. There's stains on these too, and a crusty spot to boot. I called the front desk and told them and they sent someone up to change the sheets. I went to sit on the couch to wait, and there were white smears/crusties on the couch (it was blue and very obvious). Grossed out again, I decided to suck it up and grab a towel to throw over it. The towels had rust spots all over them. The carpet again had stains, and the overall condition of the room and hotel was bad. Stains all over the hallways, spray paint on the wall paper, peeling paint, rusted fixtures, and even the tissue box cover was dirty. Oh, and the handle for the bathroom faucet spun all the way around and came off.

Can't comment on the restaurant because after seeing the condition of the rooms, I didn't want to eat there.

I thought they would have the comfy beds (they used to have one in the lobby according to a coworker), but I could feel the springs in the mattress. I wanted to check out and change to a Marriott that was close by, but if you check out early they will charge you $50.

The staff was apologetic and asked what they could do when I was checking out, I told them of the issues and they said they'd speak to housekeeping. When I go to visit again, you can bet I won't be staying there. At $159 a night, I definitely expected more.

I've stayed at many other starwood hotel's and loved all of them but this one. When we arrived the lobby looked nice and the desk people were nice, but as soon as we walked in the room things went down hill. The room was hot (they tried to fix the heater but couldn't). The window opened at the bottom by the floor and no screen (very dangerous, I'm suprised no one has been hurt). We had a small child with us and stayed on the 8th floor. The child could of easily walked over to the window and out! We blocked it with chairs and a table to prevent this, but we couldn't stand it without the window open because of the heat. The bed wasn't like all the other sweet sleeper beds, in fact I don't know how they can advertise that these are sweet sleeper beds, they are hard as a rock and don't have the plush cover over the mattress like it's suppose to. I stay at starwood hotel's because I love the beds. All of the others have a sealy posturpedic plush top. This one was a back care bed by another brand (I looked!) No plush top, I could feel the springs! The hot tub was cold the first day, not cool but cold. After complaining it warmed up the second day. The phone next to the bed was plugged in but no dial tone. They did credit my account a little and gave me starwood points when I complained the first night, but after the second night the man at the desk just listened, but no response back. They were suppose to fix the heat on the second day but didn't. I will never return to this property and I will not book a sheraton hotel based strictly on the bed type, because it might not have it. Starwood management should really check into this place, because it's making a good company look bad!

Nice hotel

We stayed at the Sheraton Nov 17-20, 2005. We're from south Texas so imagine our chagrin upon arrival in Indy when the temps were 25 degrees and snow flurries. Arrived at the hotel late a.m., rapid check in. Hotel a little dated. Cavernous lobby with cafe, separate bar (check daily happy hour specials) and sitting areas. Accommodating Gift Shop, however, expensive as expected. Stayed in two-room suite. Living area contained sofa bed, two stuffed chairs, tv, large desk, wet bar with coffee/tea amenities. Bedroom was spacious with SOFT king bed (like sleeping on a cloud), tv, closet w/safe, bureau. Bathroom was large, oversized tub/shower, plenty of towels, amenities. Additional closet between bathroom and living area. Both rooms had large windows overlooking adjacent mall area and beyond. Very clean. There is also additional mall shopping in area. The restaurants vary from upscale to drive thru. Whatever your desire. The hotel service was good. Used the business center's computer which requires a credit card for usage (wasn't happy about that since so many other hotels offer free access). Was overcharged but the matter was resolved and credit applied accordingly. We would stay at this hotel again. Hopefully it will be in the Spring or Summer.

Comfortable but basic

We are typically Sheraton fans but this particular visit left a little to be desired. We were satisfied but were never "delighted." Without an onsite fitness center, we relied on the crowded Bally's (which did have limited hours.) The self-serve coffee table in the lobby charged $1.85 for a cup of cofee (Yes, note that I did say self-serve.) Late check-outs starting at 12:01 PM will run you an extra $50. I'm really not trying to complain but I have stayed at other Sheratons where I felt more like a guest rather than a number.

We were there for a large convention so got a 2 room suite for $89. Great value!! Large living room area had wet bar with refrig and coffee maker, large wooden desk, sofa, 2 cushy chairs, TV. Bedroom had SOFT bed with TV, dresser, chair, personal safe in closet. Bathroom was large and well lighted. Hall closet. Staff made us feel personally welcomed, not just a guest at some hotel, and did several extras for us! Huge facility with landscaped front, smallish upscale mall connected, and many nice (but expensive) restaurants in the immediate area. Convenient location to 465 loop around the city and to main roads heading downtown. This is where we would stay on our next trip to Indy even if it is a little more than the usual family vacation hotel.

A little outdated

The hotel is kinda outdated. The room itself needs new furniture. The bed is a new "sleeper" bed, which was great, but the desks are old and torn up and my bathroom was kinda a dissapointment for a Sheraton (old shower, leaky shower head).
I also could here every conversation the guy in the next room had. I dont know if the guy had a loud voice, but regardless, the walls are thin. Overall, for the money, you don't get what you paid for. They need to "refresh" that place and bring it up to Sheraton standards. On the plus side, the customer service was great and friendly.

Very Nice Hotel, Great Location

We had a very enjoyable stay at this Sheraton property. Overall the property is very well-kept and in a centralized location adjacent to good shopping and dining.

The room was very nice. We were on the club floor so I cannot comment on the other rooms, but it was a comfortable, updated room with good space. The bathroom was a bit oudated but it was clean.

Room service was fast and the food was good. As mentioned in previous reviews, there was a skybridge that allowed you to get to the mall in all of five minutes. Dining varied from fast food to other restaurants such as PF Changs, Maggiano's, etc.

Another nice feature is that guests can walk next door and work out at the Bally's gym, free of charge (note: be sure to bring your own towel!).

The hotel can also arrange shuttle service to the airport via Carey Limousine for a very reasonable rate of $24.

There happened to be a big tennis event at the hotel the weekend we were there, but the hotel never felt overcrowded and we did not feel neglected as guests. All in all, it was a very nice experience and just a I would expect from a Starwood property.

My tennis team stayed at the Sheraton last weekend. We had two suites on the 10th floor and they were great. Admittedly the hotel is not new but it was clean and our rooms were spacious. The little kitchen was nice since we were bringing a lot of snacks to take to the tennis tournament nearby.

We did have to request extra towels since our room which slept six was only provided with three towels. Likewise we had to ask for more coffee and more cups. Five women need their coffee. Especially when they have to compete in a tennis tournament. But those are only minor complaints.

The staff was friendly and helpful and check-out was speedy. We did have a charge for water which we didn't use but there was no problem getting it removed.

The best feature of this hotel is the 2nd floor walkway to the Fashion Mall. It appeared to be an upscale mall with lots to offer. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to explore. But the Cheesecake Factory is in the mall and a great place for dinner.

All in all, I would recommend the Sheraton and the Keystone Crossing area. There are tons of shops and restaurants in the vicinity as well as three tennis facilities within close proximity.

Everything possible was done for the participants in the USTA Sectional tennis tournament but I believe that we would have had good service regardless. If I ever go back to Indy I'll head for the Sheraton.

Nice Suite + Free Breakfast = Good Value

We stayed here on 8/20/05. We enjoyed a two room suite (our daughters shared a spacious "board room" while we relaxed in a roomy bedroom). Our rate included full breakfasts for all 4 of us. The indoor pool was adequate and the proximity to the Fashion Mall thrilled my wife.

Top Local Tips for Indianapolis

Don't use cabs! The limousine services are much less expensive than the cabs from the airport. The Ground Transportation Center is located directly across from the A concourse and you have a variety of options available to you there. A limousine ride to the other side of Indy is about $24 dollars. A cab ride for the same distance is almost $60.

Rock Bottom The Rock Bottom restaurant is great! They put a special twist on all the standard home cooking favorites: jalapeno macaroni and cheese, and fish n' chips made from salmon. Their homemade brews are great too.

Stay downtown Stay in a downtown hotel, park your car and walk around the city.
