Very Nice with great service!

This was a very nice and clean hotel. Very elegant decor and even comfortable. We stayed here for a bach'ette party and the service was great! The people working at the hotel were very friendly and really seemed to be glad to have us there. The rooms were very comfortable, modern looking, and pleasant to stay in. Location is great. Very easy to walk to some great attractions. Would have no doubt to book again!

over priced, over rated, over rude

We stayed for two days. Found that the bed linens were not changed from the previous guests, but the bed was made. Floors were need of vacuuming. The breakfast buffet was over priced, and the staff was very rude. For the price not what I expected.

Bad Eperience!

My husband and I spent the weekend in Indy for our anniversary. I booked the hotel on Priceline, the Omni accepted our price. I called a week prior to our visit and requested a non-smoking King room. According to the customer service rep, my request was "confirmed." We arrived at the hotel to receive a smoking, double room. When we approched the front desk clerk he was rude and unsympathetic. He stated the double rooms were the only rooms available. The lobby is nice but the rooms aren't anything special. The bathroom is tiny with little space to work or place your items. I will definately stay somewhere else next time I visit Indy.

We stayed at the Omni downtown recently (9/4). It was our first time. It is considered 4 star hotel. It is a very nice place to stay, but not worth more than $100-125 range.

It is on Illinois, right across from the Pan Am Plaza. Valet parking was $20! so we parked in the Pan Am Plaza lot ($8 for the night).

Nice room and bathroom. Local calls were 75 cents. Pool was kind of disappointing- it was small, not an attractive pool area. Also closed kind of early I think (10 pm).

We didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants- many to choose from close by. Pullman's across the street at the Crowne Plaza has a great burger! And lots of restaurants on Illinois (go north) and Maryland (E/W).

Indy is a great city to visit!!! We stayed at the Hyatt two months ago. I would say the Omni is better. Just added that for comparison.

Pleasantly surprised

My 17 year old daughter and I wanted to spend the night in downtown Indy to do some back to school shopping and to enjoy some fine dining. We got a room at the Omni Severin Hotel through Priceline. I had asked for a 4 star hotel, put in my bid and got the Omni. I was a little worried that since we had gone through a discount company that our room may not be as good or the service would be less than average. My worries quickly vanished. The staff was extrememly courteous and professional. Our rooms were very nice and clean. We got the double beds and the non smoking room we requested. The skywalk connecting to Circle Center Mall was incredibly convenient. The Mall is amazing with reasonably priced stores. The Omni is close to everything. Several nice restaurants, monument circle which is very much alive in the evening and it's fun to just sit and watch people.
It was so great to enjoy wearing ourselves out in downtown Indy and returning to our posh hotel room to kick back and get a great nights sleep.
We parked in the Pan Am Plaza Garage just across the street from the hotel. You can park for up to 24 hours for $8.00. We enjoyed our stay so much we are spreading the word and will stay at the Omni again with or without a discount.
Downtown Indy is fabulous. I remember 25-30 years ago, it was dirty and dead. Now it is alive and beautiful.

Recently I stayed at the Omni Severin Hotel to attend a friend's wedding ceremony and reception. What a beautiful hotel.

My guestroom was a nice size and well appointed. The location was perfect for a quick trip to the mall and for lunch within walking distance the day of the wedding.The hotel staff was helpful with local restaurants and advice -- and the wedding -- was fantastic!

I knew the bride was excited about the location of the ceremony because of the beauty of the ballroom, but when I saw it in person I too thought she'd chosen the perfect venue! The hor d'oeuvres were passed by white gloved butler servers and the entree was prepared and served with the elegance of a high end restaurant. (NOT typical wedding food!) The staff and bar tenders at the reception were excellent and the Bride kept telling me how well she was treated throughout the planning process. I assured her -- ALL of her guests were treated that well. It was a great weekend!

The perfect weekend getaway!

After reading mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived. I had planned a getaway for my boyfriend and drove over the weekend before to leave a basket to have delivered to our room. Just like I had asked, the basket was waiting in our room when we arrived.

I highly recommend registering for select guests. I got a free room upgrade to a King Suite which was beautiful and the express check-in and check-out were great. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

I would advise visiting the hotel website in addition to some of the discount travel sites. I got the Phenominal Friday rate which was far cheaper than what I found through other sites. Definitely worth the extra time!

You can bet I'll go back to Indy and the Omni Severin again!

I LOVED my stay at the Omni Severin. I had an amazing Phenomenal Friday rate which they promptly upgraded to a Plaza Suite after I joined their Select Guest program. I walked into the most beautiful suite I'd ever seen. I had a huge bed, beautiful living area, 2 tv's, a fluffy robe, fabulous balcony. I had a wonderful stay and was met with nothing but exemplary service. I'm from NYC so the street noise made me feel right at home. I will definitely stay at the Omni again if I'm ever in Indianapolis and look forward to staying at other Omni properties.

Stayed at the Omni Severin in 1999 and in 2001 for Supercross at the RCA Dome. Its directly across the street. Had great service and rooms were very clean. A little expensive for my taste, though.

Pleasant Stay

Stayed at the Omni on October 25, 2003. Enjoyed it.

I read some of the other reviews many of which were negative, my experience was on the whole, positive. Nearly all hotel stays will have their negative moments, but on the whole the Omni is a good choice for those who like luxury accomodations and good customer service.

Let's start with the positive:

All of the employees from the valet parkers to the front desk to the maintenance people are friendly and courteous.

They have Olive's which is a martini bar which is very classy and comfortable. The restraunt is Hot Tuna and has excellent food and good service.

The room itself was very nice and comfortable. Big bathrooms with marble floors. Checkout is as easy as confirming over the phone the departure time.

The negative:

We checked in around 3 PM and it was like grand central station. It was hard to drive to the entrance as there is a small circular drive in front of the hotel and was hard to maneuver around. Turns out there was a wedding and the Eagles concert.

The elevator was painfully slow. We had to wait about 15 minutes as only one of them was working.

The pool is not that nice. Kind of small and in a room that is not very comfortable. No hot tub.

Hot Tuna restaraunt is kind of pricey with the buffet. It looked very good but I didn't feel like paying $25.00 for it. The breakfast buffet was like $22.00. We walked to Steak and Shake for breakfast.

Apart from these things, the Omni Severin was nice, we still enjoyed ourselves and would probable go again.

Top Local Tips for Indianapolis

Recommend the Shopping Package I recommend the shopping package. We were quoted 149.00 for a room. For 169.00, we received a $25.00 mall card (which can be used anywhere as a VISA), free valet parking, breakfast for 2, and a complementary "goody bag" which contained chocolates, coupons, travel information, our gift card, compact mirror, etc. It's best to add this package because it saves you from paying the additional for parking AND it includes the shopping VISA card.

Oceanaire The restaurant Oceanaire had excellent food. The waiter was a little rude, and the price was outrageously high.

Don't pay for valet! There are mall parking garages (where the valet guys park your cars anyway) for much less money than valet. For a one block walk you could save alot of money. I saved around $60 by parking in a garage myself.
