Top Local Tips for Indianapolis
Downtown it's not worth the price, the hotel I stayed at was a DUMP
Covered Bridge If you get a chance to go the Covered Bridge festival make sure you visit Mansfield and Bridgeton. Mansfield is by far the best when looking for new/different items. The food choice is great - anything you want to eat is available. The area is clean and with the changing of the leaves it's a most enjoyable visit. But be prepared for a huge crowd in the afternoon hours.
Don't miss the Children's Museum We spent all day at the Kids' museum, still didn't see all of it and can't wait to go back. If you are traveling from the Milwaukee/Chicago area, stop at Fair Oaks Farm in Indiana--fantastic place to "stretch your legs, let the kids see how cows are milked (and born!), great little restaurant, lots to do and see.

The other two nights we moved to a room with two beds and more to the Comfort Inn standard. We found the new room excellent in size and comfort.
I was disappointed that we left one of our own bed pillows in the first room and the hotel, knowing that we moved to another room, did not contact us and reunite us with our pillow. Clearly it is our fault for leaving the pillow in the first room.
I must say the front desk staff on the day of arrival was less than pleasant. The young lady we spoke to later in the evening was much more pleasant and accommodating and she is the one who suggested that we could move to another room on the morning.
