Top Local Tips for Galena

All Galena addresses are not in the town If you want an in-town hotel, be sure to find out exactly where it is. There are several hotels, including the Country Inn and Suites where my family stayed that are several miles from the town center.

Walking tour downtown Galena We took a wonderful walking tour on Sunday night, October 21st, given by a man who works at the local library. He is a history buff, and it was very nice to hear about the buildings and some historical stories (he tried to incorporate some ghost/scarey stories because it is near Halloween). It met at the DeSoto Hotel. The hotel would know about him, I think he does tours year round. It was $9 per person.
