My husabnd and I had reserved our room online for New Years. From the photos and the ratings we were expecting to have a pleasant stay. Upon first arriving to our $200.00 a night 8x10 room, inwhich there was no heat. We were offered a space heater! We preferred to have a heated room, so we were moved to another 8x10. After heading to a show and dinner we had some friends in town and we were going to go relax in the room for a little bit before heading back out, but to our amazement you are not allowed to have anyone else in your room. We explained that they were not staying we were just going to be in the room for a moment and head back out. They did say that we could sit in the lounge. I have never been to any other hotel that did not allow you to have guests in your room. We are not teenagers going to throw a beer party. Adults sitting together to have adult conversation. You would probably have a better stay at a motel 6. Maybe they would clean up the broken beer bottles out front and have some parking.

We had a very lovely comfortable room. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful to us. I would really like to rate it a 10 but we could hear people walking around in the room above us the entire time we were there.

Our stay at The Willows Hotel was a pleasant one, the hotel was well kept and displayed an Old World Atmosphere.
Spacious and comfortable room and quiet location added to our enjoyable stay in Chicago.

My wife and I had a great time at the Willows. Everyone was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure my wife was happy. We will definitely be back!

Top Local Tips for Chicago

Staying in the Lincoln Park / Lake View area beats staying downtown Stay in the Lincoln Park / Lake View area and you will have easy access to restaurants, shops, Wrigley field baseball, Lincoln Park Zoo and the lakefront, and there is even a Golf course very close that is located on the lakefront. I find this area to be much more safe and friendly than downtown at night also. It is very active and has a nice mix of resident ional and leisure that you don’t get downtown. But you can get downtown in 5 minutes to see the sights and return to this great neighborhood in the evening.

The Willows and O'Hare Make sure that your cabbie from O'Hare or Midway knows where The Willows is. Ours did not. It is an out of the way location. He had to pull over and call his dispatch as to where he was going. Even though I had never been to Chicago, I had to point out the street to him as he almost drove by.

Travel pass If you are in town for more than a weekend, I would definitely pick up the 3- or 7-day visitor pass from the CTA. It will definitely pay for itself and will cut down your transportation costs, as the CTA goes everywhere you need to go.
