Service...what service?
I have stayed at other Hotel Monaco locations...they are magnificient. Chicago Monaco doesn't even try. "We'll take care of it right away" actually means "all requests no matter how small take three hours." General staff attitude is enthusiastic apathy. Conceirge (three of them) made no attempt to make reservations anywhere other than restaurants within a block. At 10 p.m. I had to hail my own cab as the doorman was too busy reclining on a street sign to bother. The general manager was unresponsive to my phone calls.
