from A TripAdvisor MemberA Nice Hotel for Business People
from A TripAdvisor MemberHotel itself was very nice. It's about a 10 min walk to the Art Institute Museum. Subway and bus stops are within walking distance.
Room was good but very small. Working area was nice with a world globe on a wood desk. The bathroom had an extraordinarily narrow counter. The hotel has a club room on the ground floor where they had coffee and ice tea. There are two computers with internet access, a TV and comfortable sofa. Another feature is that you need a room card/key to get the elevator to move.
Parking: they have some discounted rate at a garage one or two blocks away. ($16 overnight) You need to ask the front desk for details.
Overall, it's a nice hotel for business people or couples. But they should keep their promise to the customers.
AWEsome hotel!
from A TripAdvisor MemberClub Quarters was terrific with one exception...
from A TripAdvisor MemberGreat hotel for marathon weekend
from TaraRClub Quarters is great for business travellers
from A TripAdvisor MemberNice work area with desktop power, phone, and network plugs. Free coffee. Additional service items, like iron/ironing board, extra toiletries, etc. are available in self-service closets on each floor, which I found to be very convenient - more convenient than having things sent up.There's a pretty good pub attached to the hotel. Food is decent, and lots of good beers on tap. This is nice because there's not much else going on in the area at night. It's a good place to relax at the bar.Overall, I would definitely stay here again when in town for business, and I would recommend it. Location is great if you have business in the Loop. The blue line is a block away, so you can take the L in right from the airport. But for tourists, this probably isn't the best area for you. It's in the middle of the Loop, not much sightseeing around, and the area shuts down at night.
Top Local Tips for Chicago
Chicago Public Transport Rocks! Forego using a Taxi unless absolutely necessary. Chicago has top notch public transport at a reasonable price. They have single day unlimited tickets for $5, 2 day tickets for $7 and 3 day unlimited tickets for $12. They are good on all busses, subways, and El's. Between the three, you can get ANYWHERE in the city. The bus stops and subways are easy to find. Each stop has listed a map, the route numbers, and an over view of the route. The el train also has the timetables listed. It is quite easy to navigate and the CTA employees are numerous and freindly.
Shopping on State Street Everyone knows about the Magnificient Mile - Michigan Avenue - Shopping but there are a lot of great shops on State Street and they are worthy of a visit. Shopping like Marshall's, Old Navy, The Rack and others provide the bargain hunter with some of the best opportunities around.
Hip brunch The Bongo Room, 1470 North Milwaukee, is not a hipster club hangout, but a great local spot for breakfast and lunch in the "happening" Bucktown/Wicker Park area. Giant plates of imaginative pancake creations or eggs benedict will keep you filled till dinner. Be prepared for a wait on weekends, but totally worth it. Then explore the shopping on the street and neighboring North Damen.

Before arriving at CQ, we called ahead and requested a sofa bed for our suite. We were assigned a room with a chair, no sofa. The staff happily accommodated our request to move, so that our children would not have to sleep on the floor. And, our new room did have a sofa bed. The kids didn't seem to mind that the bed, when extended, completely blocked passage from the main bed to the remainder of the room. My wife and I had to walk on top of the sofa mattress / bed, dodge our children's legs, and bed springs in order to brush our teeth after the children were tucked away.
As for our bed, there must be some health benefit to my head being down lower 2 to 3 inches than my feet - though I didn't ask the front desk to explain that part to me. At first, the well worn mattress seemed bumpy, but I began to think of it as camping out - something that I missed out on as a child.
The microwave, refrigerator and closet were a real plus. Our view was of the side of a building that was dark, dirty, brown, and right across the alley. The people inside did not appear to be sweating. I was envious. Our windows would not open. Believe me, I examined every square millimeter for a latch of some sort.
The corridors to the rooms reminded me of those corn field mazes at Halloween: narrow, with many turns. Fortunately, someone thought to place room number signs on the walls. And on the doors. Costly, but worth it.
The hotel was a great location for our purposes: being tourists. Clean. Hot water. Cheap compared to other places we considered.
