I thought the service was excellent and the location was great. The beds were most comfortable and the rooms had free internet access and coffee makers in the room. flat screen tvs and great shower heads.

My wife and I have stayed at the Cass Hotel several times. The hotel's location is excellent: easy walking distance to the Magnificent Mile. The rooms are old but clean.
If you stayed in this hotel in the 1940's you wouldn't have any trouble recognizing it today. The tile in the bathroom, the carpet, the fixtures, are all old. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bar is small, reasonable and great for people watching. Ditto for the diner. As noted by other reviewers, the towels are thin and they can be threadbare. But, if you want a clean, bargain priced hotel in a great location, this is it.

This is a budget hotel located in the heart of the near northside restaurant/entertainment/shopping area and about a 10-15 minute walk from the loop. Rooms are small but clean, staff is friendly, and it draws an international clientele, both young and old. We have stayed at the Cass several times both on business and on vacation.

We thought the location of the Cass Hotel ideal because we could walk to nearly all the places of interest we wished to see and were close to public transport for others. Because of its central location in a major city, we considered the Cass excellent value for money. The room was perfectly clean, serviced thoroughly daily, had sufficient storage space and the bed was comfortable. The room was a reasonable size, as was the bathroom (towels a bit on the thin side). At reception we were always treated with courtesy and efficiency and there was a safety deposit box available there, which was important to us as we had just arrived for a four week holiday in the States and were carrying travellers cheques and passports. For visitors who are out all day sightseeing, I don't think you could beat this hotel for convenience or value. Our only quibble would be with the breakfast and the limited space in which it was served butit was not a problem as there were numerous restaurants a......

We have stayed at many hotels in all parts of the world. For security sake in strange places, we have had to stay in three, for and even 5 star accomodation. But this expenditure has often meant that our trips are fewer than we would wish. Then rhere was that wondrous visit to Chicago.... one of the lovliest cities in the world and certainly the most friendly. But what would it have been without our ""Home from Home""... the Cass Hotel! We loved every moment we spent there...Comfy rooms, totally relaxed atmosphere, lovely happy breakfasts downnstairs each morning, it was an important part of one of the happiest journies of our lives.... If we ever get accross the broad Atlantic again... let it be to Chicago and to thadear Cass!. We have told everyone, especially American friends. To our Ffriends here in Ireland, we simply say.. its around the corner from Fitzpatricks at quarter the price. Well done Cass, we shall never forget you...
