Top Local Tips for Sandpoint
What to know about Sandpoint Don't drive with out of state plates, you'll get pulled over for no reason! I asked what I had been pulled over for and the officer didn't have a reason and then said, oh you're headlights aren't on, it was 5:30 p.m. very light outside! Also, the accommodations in Sandpoint are a rip off. The only nice person was the owner of K2Inn and he tried to help me find a room in Sandpoint (he was full that night) and his B&B Coit House couldn't take 5 to a room (which we had 3 children, 2 adults). He was in fact, the only friendly person in all of Sandpoint, including restaurants, gas stations, etc. Very rude community and I will not go back. I have been to many warmer, friendly, more accommodating communities, (Jackson, Wy, Bozeman, MT, etc..)
Great Italian cuisine at Arlo's We took a stroll to the main street through Sandpoint, only a few minute walk from La Quinta. We stopped for dinner at Arlo's Ristorante - http://www.sandpointonline.com/businessdir/show.phtml?a=5&b=797 Wonderful meal out on patio overlooking water with enjoyable music by a keyboardist playing/singing Billy Joel classics.
