Top Local Tips for Island Park

Island Park is an awesome alternative to Yellowstone National Park Wtih Henry's Lake, Sawtelle Peak, Big Springs and Johnny Sack's cabin, Harriman State Park you can do everything for individual or family vacations right in the valley. Fishing, guided fishing tours, biking, ATVing, tubing, swimming, hiking, golfing are all available right there. And family friendly; what are snowmobile paths in winter become ATV and biking paths in the Summer. I even saw ATVers going up to the top of Sawtelle Peak. Our kids loved the ice cream parlor at Mack's Inn and resorts like Sawtelle offer up plenty of outdoor activities as well as the creature comforts of showers and pool/hottub when you need a little of the 'indoors'. Winter offers up the fabulous Snowmobile Capitol of the world with hundreds of miles of trails for snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The locals are friendly and welcoming and Island Park has everything - and more - of the YNP tourist towns, but most importanly, without the crowds.
