The staff is friendly and accomidating, the location is gorgeous, the shopping and restuarants are within walking distance and the aloha spirit is alive and well here.

Our first trip to Maui. We arrived on a Friday, were married on Saturday and stayed through till Thursday. The hotel was great. We had a garden view room on the 2nd floor, though there isn't much to view, we didn't mind as we were rarely in the room except at night when you can't see much anyway. The room had a very comfortable murphy bed, full kitchen and was nicely decorated. The staff was wonderful and the location of the hotel is perfect. Walking distance into Lahaina Town with all its shops and restaurants. I'd recommend making sure you get a room at least on the 2nd floor as if you are on the 1st floor you will have people walking right by your room. Looking forward to staying there again.

The best part of our Hawaii trip. Excellent location, beautifully appointed rooms with all amenities, including cooking utensils (I am not kidding!!). Will go back again

Stayed at the Lahaina Shores the end of October 2003. Ocean front.
Beautiful sunsets from our balcony. Well kept and clean, all new kitchen equipment. New mattresses were brought in while we were there.
Nice little beach in front. The breakwater makes it great for floating around on a raft or snorkeling. Convenient to town. The staff is friendly and efficient. Not fancy by any means, but I would definately stay there again.

Lahaina Shores just okay

I stayed at the Lahaina Shores in October of 2002. I chose this on my sister's recommendation and probably would not choose this hotel again.
I thought staying in Lahaina would be great and they advertise that they are the only hotel in Lahiana on the beach, but the beach is gross there. The advantage would be that you are walking distance to all the shopping etc. in downtown Lahaina. Next time I will go back to Kaanapali area hotels. They were much nicer and the beach is beautiful, and there is still plenty to do and see there in Whaler's Village. The Lahiana has condo style rooms and ours was dated, but clean. I am sure some of the other owner's keep their units more up to date. The hallways are ugly and the lobby is nothing special but overall it is serviceable for the price. I had stayed at the Whaler before and it was much much nicer, but about 50.00 more per night.

It was our first trip to Hawaii and it was absolutely fabulous! We didn't have any idea of which hotel to book, and took our chances, and it turned out to be great for us. It is not the "glitzsy" high-rise condo type, it is a little older, but still clean and in good shape. The staff was very friendly. It is "on" the beach, which we found some that were advertised as "on", but the are about 2 blocks back from it. The room had a great view, with a full kitchen, and the hotel was close to the village for eats and shopping. I would definitely recommend it to those who want a good, clean place with a moderate price tag!

My wife and I thought Lahaina Shores was the cleanest room we ever stayed in. We were very happy and well pleased with the staff, hotel, beach, pool, location, everything connected with the hotel. We look forward to staying there again!!

This place was gross. I really disliked the atmosphere. The carpet and tile in our room had lots of black spots. I don't recomend this place for romance. The location was on Front St. near the action in Lahaina but their was a lot of car traffic and noise. Across the street the tennis courts and parked looked like it belonged in Compton! (awful)

Beaches There are many different places to stop to enjoy a day on the beach. All down Highway 30 (which brings you in and through Lahaina) has beach access up and down it. You will also easily find golf courses, restaurants (including fast food like Taco Bell and Subway) on this road.

Save money Save money by shopping at the grocery store. Cheap dining is easily $10 a plate, which can add up quickly in a group of four. Paying an extra few dollars a night for a room with a kitchen will save you tons of money over the week or so of your trip. There are some really good spots in lahaina for those $10 a plate meals, but you might have to look for them. Pizza is always a good way to go, and there is a fantastic pizza place right downtown."Aloha Mixed Plate" is an excellent value, and highly reccomended.
