Nice and spacious rooms; good views; overall cost-quality was good. Coffee in the lobby was terrible.

Paradise

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed at HHV on recent June trip to Hawaii. I am an owner in the HGVC so we were in the lagoon tower. But, the entire staff of the village were very friendly and helpful. This is truly a village and you don't need to leave, they have everything. The stretch of beach by the HHV is by far the best part for sand and fun on Waikiki beach. The only complaint, and it is very minor, if you are a pool person and not a beach person, the pools are not very big, however, you do have a whole ocean at your doorstep. Would recommend to anyone.

Loved the Hilton

We stayed there 2 years ago. The property was beautiful. Our daughter loved the fish ponds. We stayed in the Ali'i Towers. The view was fantastic. We would definately stay there again.

Great Resort and Service

from A TripAdvisor Member
Our family stayed at the Hilton on May 24th through the 28th, 2003. We stayed in the Ali'i Tower and since the Ali'i Tower has a private separate registration desk, we didn't have to wait in a long line for check in. I asked to be upgraded from a garden view to an ocean view and they kept our luggage and gave us three room keys to view the rooms to make our decesion! Wow, that is service! We easily made our decesion and had a beautiful room with a great view of the pool and ocean. The room was very nice and has a mini tv in the bathroom along with two sinks. They had service three times a day. Also, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. they had appetizers for everyone in the Ali'i tower by the private Ali'i pool. The resort has all kinds of shopping along with several great restaurants. You never need to leave unless you want to sightsee around the island, which I highly recommend. The wildlife, (penquins) etc. were so neat to see. Also, they have free classes for lei making, and hula lessons. Every night they have a short neat hawaiian show by the pool. This is a great hotel for the family and I highly recommed it especailly in the Ali'i Tower.

Stayed in the Diamond Head Tower

Me and my family jut got bacl from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The grounds were amazing. I had never seen so many exotic plants, trees, and flowers. Our room was in the Diamond Head Tower. The room was awesome, we were on the 11th floor with views of an enormous tree garden, Diamond Head volcano, and views of the ocean. I would recomend this hotel to anyone going to Hawaii.

Loved the Tapa Tower

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed 6 nights in the Tapa Tower during the Spring Break (April 2003). This was our 2nd stay at the Tapa Tower and we loved it. Our room faced the park (a lower rate), however we could look down and watch our sons in the pool. The Tapa bar had nightly music and the Hilton had daily drink specials (ie Pina Colada) for $5. The tower is closest to the street and we were able to walk across the street to a local coffee shop for breakfast @ a 1/3 of the price of the Hilton. In the Tapa Tower is the bus stop where a free DFS bus takes you downtown to their store where you can walk in and walk out and you are in the middle of Waikiki. Love the Tapa tower.

the village was more than we expected

Our tropical vacation was more than we had anticipated. The grounds were an experience themselves. We had great service every where we went. We'll hope to come back some day!

A Touch of Class

from AntG
This hotel won me over from the minute we arrived. The place is immaculately kept - the setting is naturally stunning - and the staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Tapa tower and had a very spacious corner room for me, my wife and 2 children. I still can't believe how large the room was.The facilities were excellent and we can't wait to come back here. I have started saving up but any donations will be gratefully accepted!!!If only all hotels were like this.

First timmer to Hawaii

from A TripAdvisor Member
This was my first time to Hawaii and staying at the Hilton was great. The rooms and service were outstanding. I would recomend it to any one. The only thing that I thought was a little disturbing was the price of there drinks. But I guess you have to pay to play. There were other place neare by that were less expensive. I would highly recomend it

Loved the Hilton Hawaiian Village

from Karisma_T
My husband and I attended a wedding at the Hale Koa hotel next door and thought the Hilton Hawaiian Village would be a great place to stay because of it's locale. After researching the hotel we decided to stay in the A'li tower, it was a brand new tower at the time. It was luxurious but didn't have much of a view. Next time we will probably stay at one of the other towers. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the beach area is decent. The hotel does have alot of unexpected charges, but I would still recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed at the Rainbow Tower and the view was amazing! I still take out the video camera to remember...The hotel grounds are beautiful and you can walk right out onto the beach. The pools were wonderful and I enjoyed walking around the various shops in the village. The ABC store is close and so are various restaurants. We walked down the beach to a fabulous restaurant called the Shorebird...it was GREAT! Rent a car and drive around the island...check out the WWII monuments. It was a wonderful stay and we will come back to this hotel on our next vacation to Oahu for sure!

Top Local Tips for Honolulu

Dining In Waikiki Beach If at all possible make reservations for Sunset Dinning as most beachside restaurants fill up very early so that people can enjoy the fantastic sunsets. We found that if you don't mind an early dinner (5:00 p.m) you will not have to wait long, the same holds true for dinning later as well.

Best Happy hour - Mai Tai Bar on Top of Ala Moana SHopping Center There are several restaraunts on the top level of the Ala Moana shopping center less than a mile from Waikiki. The Mai Tai Bar is open air and has the best happy our. Great prices, great appitizers

Wonderful Vacation and Resort Take in as much of the island as you can with your own transportation and not be tied into a tour company schedule when wanting to see the entire island. When visiting the Arizona memorial, do take the tour, that is worth the cost, time, etc.
