Upon checking in, I explained to management that I was uncertain as to how many weeks I would need my room.
When paying my security deposit, management advised me to put it on a credit card. He explained to me they may not always have the cash on hand for reimbursment, at check out, depending on amount of checkouts for that day. This way would require a 24 hr notice so as to assure the funds would be available.
He explained that a credit card would be the better alternative, so a credit could be issued immediately without the 24 hr notice.
Upon checkout(at 8:00 am), I was refused credit for my $50 security deposit. Managment stated that I had failed to give a 24 hr notice. He would be unable to issue any reimbursment. He gave me the number to corporate office. When I questioned him further about what his original statements were to me, he told me that they would not have ample time to inspect the room.
Giving ample time to "inspect" I came back at 4:00 pm and he then stated that I still would not be able to get my deposit back because of the 24 hr policy.
I was told this was a security deposit, not a room reserve deposit. I have called corporate over 6 times leaving my name and number each time, and have still not gotten the courtesy of a return call. Their message states that each call will be answered within 48 hrs, and to please call back if the call does not get returned. My calls have been placed over a 2 week period.
This is very misleading. I called another Intown Suite and spoke to a manager hoping they could give me another number to "corporate". I told them the problem I was having. The manager told me that the manager of each location had authority to credit accounts if they chose to do so.
I will never stay at another Intown Suites, nor will I advise anyone else to. In 2004 I spent 4 straight months over 5 states with my job. Most all of this time was spent at an Intown Suite if there was one close to the jobsite. I never had this problem with any of them!!
AS far as the room goes, I was without water for almost 24 hours due to a busted water pipe, the people next door were fighting and threatening each other which was reported. Nothing was done. They didn't give their once a week room cleaning service because I had my own pillow there. There was a note left on it stating that they didn't clean my room since I had my own bedding, if they could be of further assistance, let them know. Yet the week before, it was cleaned eith my pillow there. Management said that it "must have been a new girl".
