Not up to expectationsfrom hbladman
Over the years we have stayed at most of the hotels in downtown Atlanta. The check-in experience was first class. Valet parking a breeze and our room was ready at 11:00 am. The lobby is small and the bar is in the lobby. Our room was well furnished but small. Very small. This is not the place to stay if you need a desk and perhaps an easy chair. There was no easy chair and the desk small. Wi-Fi is free and fast. The TV is plasma and neat, the remote is a little weird. The window in the shower that opens into the room was very strange.My harshest critcism is saved for the restaurant and room service though. The first evening I attempted to place a room service order for the next morning. I was told that this was not possible. I questioned that answer and was told that it just was not possible, to call back in the morning. I then called the front desk went through my story and was reconnected to someone else at room service who had no problem taking my order. It was delivered hot and on time. The next day was the same story, so we decided to just go down to the restaurant for breakfast. Limited menu, high prices. It was a nice hotel but in this market there are better hotels, just as well located for the same price. They all have bigger rooms and easier room service

Worst Service I have Ever Experiencedfrom SC_Frequent_Traveler
The next morning after breakfast, we went to pick up our tickets to find out they were not there. They did not know where they were. Shouldn't they have verified this the night before or first thing in the morning? The General Manager goes to look for them where he believes they are locked up in the Concierge's safe. He is gone for over 30 minutes. During this time, we have no communication but my husband tells me later he saw him DRINKING COFFEE in the restaurant. We ask for him to come to speak to us. He is VERY RUDE and tells us he is trying and there is nothing he can do. At this point, it would have been simpler for them to refund us the ticket money or run down the street and buy more. But they offer to do neither and ignore the suggestions. They have other tickets at the desk we inquire about, but they tell us those belong to other guests. They didn't want them to come get their tickets and them not be there. That's nice, but how is that any different from what is happening to us. The manager dissapears for another 20 minutes. We are getting quite upset. He is not apologetic at all. When he returns, he tells us it is OUR fault for making the wrong reservations.
We proceed to go to the room and get the confirmation. At this point, an hour later, he finally agrees to give us someone else's tickets.
The whole time they were VERY RUDE and NON-APOLOGETIC. They were in no hurry to help and seemed to not care. Then, no offer of an apology, a refund, a free breakfast. I understand people make mistakes, but their attitude and attentiveness was unacceptable.
That evening, they offered us our 'first round of drinks'. I don't drink, and there is little cost in there for them.
This hotel may have a cool atmosphere, but the total lack of service (we experienced poor service in the restaurant as well) makes it not worth the trip. I recomend you stay elsewhere.

I thought I had a found a home away from home since I travel to ATL frequently. I might say that this trip was very disppointing. That evening I called for a wake-up call at 8:00 and room service for breakfast at 8:30-9:00. The call never came and fortunately I woke up at 8:30 since my plan was to leave the hotel at 9:30. My first call came at 8:45 from room service informing me that since I selected regular grits instead of the standard cheese grits that was on the menu it would take an additional 30 minutes to make regular grits.
Why they were just now looking my menu request was besides me since I put it out at 8:00 p.m. the evening before.
I asked them to just bring the cheese grits and he said they would be up in 5 minutes. 30 MINUTES later still no breakfast. I scheduled to leave in 15 minutes. I called to inquire about my breakfast to the front desk, who then put me through to the restaurant which went to voicemail. I hung up and called 5 minutes later and they again switched me to the restaurant. The same guy came on and told me he was sorry and I would have my food in 5 minutes. It was 9:20.
I told him that was what he promised the last time and I didn't have time to wait. So he cancelled my order.
When I went to check out the clerk didn't ask me if everything was alright with my stay. It wasn't until I asked for the general manager that he asked me if everything was okay. I told him no and still asked to speak to the GM. I had no use for him since he wasn't courteous enough to ask me that right off.
He said the GM had just walked around the corner and that he probably left because he wasn't suppose to be there he was just doing some paperwork. When I told him what had happened with the wake up call and room service, he just said he was sorry.
He then charged my room the weekend rate, not even lookin to see that I had reserved my room online beforehand at a lesser rate.
When I showed him the hard copy of the room confirmation he changed my nightly room rate to the total room rate with tax and then charged me tax on top of that. When I pointed the error he corrected it again and did not offer me a hard copy receipt until I asked for it. He charged my credit card 3 times and supposedly credited it 2 times.
When the GM unsuspectantly comes walking back, I explained my problems. He apologized and said the next time I stay he would take of me. He doesn't have my name nor would he know me from ADAM so I know he was not truly concerned. He gave me someone else's card with his name on it. Not a voucher so if I do show up and he is not there, that does me no good. He then blamed my room service on the restaurant which makes no difference to me I am only concerned with the services the Glenn offers to me not their issues with the restaurant.
I have enough frequent points to stay at the W hotel for free and I chose to pay for this.

We had one minor problem that they were only too eager to fix, there was a large party taking place at the roof top bar and we were on the 10th floor. We absolutely loved the room and the peek-a-boo shower location, but they said we needed to move b/c of the party. The room they changed us too was not as nice as the one we were in. When I pointed this out to them, they upgraded us to a mini-suite which was oh so much fun.
The food is fabulous and the drinks, all made with fresh fruit were delicious and wonderful. It's in walking distance of some other nice restaurants and the aquarium and cnn building and Centennial Park. All wonderful.
They are still new and building on service, but overall, this was a great place (definitely not for kids). We will be using this as our permanent Atlanta hotel!

BUT, I will have to say that the staff is attentive and the room was comfortable (although unbelievably tiny) and super affordable. If you have to stay in downtown Atlanta for either business or (like us) for an event at the Philips Arena (which is right across the street) this is a perfect hotel for you.
My one giant complaint: for a hotel that tries to be so hip, offering room service only until 11pm is pretty stupid. They should at least offer a limited menu until 2am.
This is DEFINITELY NOT a place to bring the kids.
Now the negatives, the front desk guy was so arrogant...we asked him questions about the area restaurants etc. and he said he just moved here and didn't know much...aren't hotel employees suppose to be very helpful in this aspect? We decided the scene in the roof top bar was also not what we were looking for and the manager who took us up there was not gracious and congenial but he too had an arrogance about him. Seems to be rampant in this hotel. Both bars had more of a cheesy scene as opposed to a laid back chic feel..we were suprised...we make regular trips to New York City and normally like the modern, stylized type hotels but not the Glenn.

The resturant (B.E.D) had the most delectable food EVER! Braised short ribs, lobstertail, porkchop! And the servers were ON POINT! I have absolutely NOTHING negative to say about this place. Centrally located, within walking distance to the CNN Center, the Georgia World Congress Center, Centinnial Park!!!!
However, if you like 'quiet', 'ordinary', 'mundane' hotel stays...this is not the place for you. The lobby is a virtual club/bar that hops til the wee hours of the morning. If you like this sort of atmosphere, you'll love this hotel!
And the rooms...the best I've ever stayed at to date!!! Beautifully designed, very chic/modern decor. 32" Plasma tv's, peek-a-boo showers, definitely a place for couples, or somewhere to stay with your friends to kick back, enjoy the city and get your GROOVE ON!
Top Local Tips for Atlanta
The Glenn is walking distance to... the Georgia Aquarium, the new World of Coke (not open yet), and Centennial Park. Excellent place to stay if attending an event at Philips Arena.
atlanta is a big city. Choose your hotel location wisely. Scoop out where you want to go before choosing a hotel. FYI atlanta is huge!
Drivers Each and every cab we took was like being on a tour. The drivers were friendly, informative and wanted to tell you stories about their city. Each and everyone of them were proud to live there.
