Absolutely first rate

from NYCBeachBoy
Amenities galore in this marvellous location. My standard king room had just about anything you could imagine in terms of luxuries. The lobby bar is clearly a see and be seen location. Amazingly ( to this New Yorker) there is still smoking permitted in the bar--even cigar smoking-- which may not please everyone. We managed to find a quiet corner off the main space to escape it. The service is wonderful, the front desk very helpful and you couldn't pick a much nicer place to stay in Atlanta.

More of a business atmosphere

from legaljunkie
We have stayed at Ritz locations at Laguana Beach, Boston, Amelia Island, Naples, Reynolds Plantation and Cleveland. This hotel had a more business atmosphere. We were on the club level and stayed for 3 nights.

The room was clean but the bathroom was in need of some updating. The service we encountered was very prompt and what you would expect at a Ritz but less personal than some of the other Ritz locations we have frequented.

The food presentation was not on par to what we were treated to at Amelia Island and Naples Golf (our 2 favorite resorts!) but I must say the alcohol selection was most impressive at all times. The limited food selection was basically the same each day with very long delays in replenishing the food. The club is very cramped and lacked enough seating during breakfast and some snacks. It was not a place to relax but a better place to catch a quick bite or drink.

We were on our way to dinner across the street to Blue Point (love their food) and the Ritz driver took us over and he was most polite and service oriented.

The lobby bar was very busy-- I used to frequent the bar when I lived in Atlanta. We always have fun there but stayed away this time b/c the smell of smoke was too strong.

Overall, it was a satisfactory stay -- although for $425 a night, I have experienced more relaxing stays at their other locations.

Have a Ritz Carlton Wedding!

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I were married at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead in 2004. It was a fantastic experience. Everything was made so easy by our wedding planner, who was on staff at the hotel, so there was no additional fee for her services. I compared pricing for renting a venue such as Callenwolde, and have a wedding planner, and the Ritz came in less expensive.

The evening was flawless, food and drink service were superb and the atmosphere was elegant. Our planner was truly a professional. I would recommend hosting a wedding here to anyone.

Our Bridal suite was illuminated with about 50 candles that evening and rose petals were throughout...not just on the bed. Music was playing in the background. What a lovely surprise. The brunch the following day was delicious and a wonderul opportunity for us to see our guests off before we leaft on our honeymoon.

We did not have to lift a finger. (well, except our ring fingers!) It was an absolute dream. A+++++++

Good but disappointing bathroom

from Comparsita
We had booked a suite which had a separate parlor. The accommodation was good except for the bathroom – a real disappointment. At this level & price, I would expect two basins, a separate shower cubicle and possibly, a separate WC cubicle. In this small bathroom there was just one basin, no separate WC, and worst of all, only a shower attachment in the bath. The bath was small too.Very poor and not on a par with the rest of the suite.

Another gripe: the room safe was operated by a key which you had to carry around with you instead of an electronic number code which many hotels have these days.

The hair salon is not in the actual hotel, but accessible by going through the hotel and down stairs to an adjoining plaza, without going outside. They were able to give me an appointment at very short notice.

We ate at The Dining Room (the hotel’s gourmet restaurant) and enjoyed a superb meal there.

The hotel is well located for some of the main shopping malls in Buckhead.
The indoor pool is a very good size for a city hotel and has large windows giving lots of natural light.

an excellent stay

Be here with a group from France for a medical congress.
Despite the fact to be here with a group, nothing to complain...
Rooms were ready at our arrival, made in the morning with a second passage in the evening.
Flowers in the bathroom, changed every 2 days, ice in the room every night and USA today at the room door every morning plus NYTimes, Atlanta newspaper and wall street journal at breakfast...
Breakfast was just superb.
Room size was perfect and all the small details make the sejour perfect(chocolates at night, ...).
An adress to highly recommand for who is not
always angry...
Sometimes, hotel seem not to be the same upon the guests...

Walked into room which looked generally clean until discovered a used q-tip on the bathroom floor. Grouting etc clearly not updated in a long time. Actively solicited newspaper choice, but then no newspaper in the morning. Nothing shocking, and the bed was very comfortable, but far below Ritz-Carlton standards.

not that impressive

from gsoncnative
This was my first experience staying at Ritz-Carlton, so I may have expected too much. We were two women in town for shopping and thought it would be a great place to stay. When we arrived to check in we asked if we might get an upgrade. The manager, who was not very nice, told us we could upgrade to club level for$150.00. We said we didn't think so. Our room was nice but the bathroom had a shower curtain that I'm sure did not cost more than $10.00. Mostly men were staying there on business, I'm sure. We asked the concierge for a recomendation for dinner and he raved about a restaurant nearby. When we got there, the food was okay and the prices were outragious. We were disapponted.

Fabulous club-level staff

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at the Buckhead Ritz in April, 2004. Very easy access to the metro, which I loved. Fun shopping area, with more of a city-surburban feel to this area. Check-in was a nightmare with the manager. Very rude and made me very late to a meeting. Finally he checked me in, to an unmade room! He tried to rectify this with a free bottle of water. Weird manager. However, when finally settled the club level room was superb and best of all was everyone on the Club Level staff, especially the Club's new manager!!! I loved the foods, the relaxation, the conversations, the people, privacy or social if choose, time to read. I felt like it was a home away from home. The concierge staff was most kind and very helpful in every way, except one: they try to get you to use taxis as much as possible, and taxis in Atlanta are very expensive, more than NYC! Use the clean, safe, superb metro service instead. There is even a shuttle service van to and from the airport they never tell you about ($20 each way), except for one that they suggest to you that is very, very expensive. Maybe some $$ changing hands steering people to taxis, etc?? Pool was very lovely, so was exercise room, sun deck mediocre. Spa nothing to mention about. Our club level room was superb and very comfortable. I do hope to stay here again someday. Atlanta has changed so much and is amazing.

s sleep ever!

My husband and I decided to splurge and stay at the Ritz for 2 nights for our anniversary and I'm glad we did! The service was fantastic and we got a great package that ended up being perfect for us. The room service was great... the only thing was that it cost $65 for us to split a cheeseburger and 2 glasses of iced tea. The bed was incrediblely comfortable. We would stay there again in a heart beat.

not up to Ritz Carlton standards

from A TripAdvisor Member
We chose this hotel for our 5-day stay because of the Ritz Carlton's reputation for superb service. This hotel's guest rooms were lovely but small, as was the bathroom and closet. I would have overlooked that if they had provided good service. But that was not the case. Housekeeping had trouble providing even basic service (e.g. cleaning the room on time, providing daily room amenities). Additional requests were a real difficulty -- after 3 phone calls asking to have our room service trolley removed, we finally just put it in the hall. And shoes sent out for a complementary shine were returned much later than promised, causing a significant problem in dressing for an event.

The high point was the food -- superb meals and the most elaborate Sunday brunch we'd ever seen. I suggest dining at the Ritz but staying somewhere else.

Top Local Tips for Atlanta

flying out It's a very good idea for anyone not familiar with Atlanta to be at the airport a minimum of an hour-and-a-half before your flight leaves. The airport is huge and just getting from security to your boarding area can take 20 minutes.

Food The food at the Ritz was great. No reason to go anywhere else.

High Museum The High Museum has rotating exhibits. Checjk out their website to see if one interests you.
