Above and beyond expectations

from A TripAdvisor Member
Like a few others, I booked through priceline and got one heck of a deal! Even if I had paid a little more it still would have been well worth it.

I took the advice of other people on here and joined their select guest program which got me a room with all my preferences: high, king bed, non smoking, down pillows, and a USA today newspaper with comp. beverages in the morning.

I was put into the new tower (North I think) on the 18th floor, which still offered me a nice view of the park.

Everything in the room was really nice, and the chaise was a nice feature.

What really got me was the customer service. We ordered room service and they overcooked my burger and forgot the Perrier. I called to complain, they sent me another burger, took it off the bill, and gave me free breakfast the next morning for both my fiancee and I.

Take the CNN tour while you are here.

Only Weekend

from pryclss
We stayed in this hotel for a weekend in December as part of our Girls' Only Weekend. It was GREAT!! The view from our rooms was picture-perfect. It's located right across the street from Centiennel Park and the staff is wonderful. They were very helpful with directions and even offered ideas for our nights out!! I would and will stay there again!!! :-)

At Priceline Rate, Great Bargain!

from GSUStudent
I booked on Priceline and was VERY happy with my stay, especially at such a great rate. Great view in South Tower overlooking the park and the city. Well appointed, spacious room. Be sure to register on the Omni webpage for the Select Guest program. You'll get a packet in the mail with a card, and this provides a nice bonus. I thought the valet parking was pricey ($20), but I didn't have much of a choice once I'd pulled in. =(

5 different rooms/serious problems

from A TripAdvisor Member
I went to this hotel for a 40th birthday getaway. I would never do it again. To keep a long story short, I experienced soiled linens, leaky ceilings, dirty cutlery, dusty furniture, and trash on the floors in this hotel. I had 5 different rooms during a two night stay. Management personally selected two of those rooms, nonetheless, they were dirty. They were not at all accomodating considering my trouble, and do not deserve the 4 star rating.

Think twice about booking this one!

Loved it, but one major complaint

from firstlove
We booked the Omni through priceline the day before our trip (we arrived at the hotel on Saturday, October 16). We read on the website to stay away from the atrium, and our request was honored without any fuss. We were given a room with a spectacular view of the city skyline and the park. (south tower) It was breathtaking!
The only problem was inside the hotel room itself. While the furnishings were beautiful and the room was very spacious, we had an adjoining room (all are adjoining), and could hear everything next door. To make matters worse, there was a small child in the next room that cried and lauged very loud (as babies do), and a mother that scolded the young child. It sounded as if they were in our room. When I say we could hear everything, I mean that we even heard the mom talking of what white shirt she would wear with her khaki pants. IF I CAN REPEAT EVERY WORD OF THEIR CONVERSATION IT MUST HAVE BEEN PRETTY BAD! We even tried to turn the television up to no avail.
Finally, we requested another room and went to check out the room in the north tower. As indicated on the website, the odd number rooms were overlooking a railroad track that we read was loud at times. It was not as spacious and smelled of smoke.
Chosing what we thought was the lesser of two evils, we stuck with our room with the park view. As expected, the baby was in bed early, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet at night. Then, at about 7:30 in the morning, our neighbors woke up and woke us up in the process. We could not go back to sleep until 9:00 a.m. when they left. I was so close to banging on the wall to get them to shut up.
Overall, the trip was great and the hotel was nice, but the adjoining rooms aren't good unless you travel with a group and need two rooms together. The Prime Meridian restaurant in the hotel was nice. We went down and had a good dinner, not great, as the menu was very limited. The dining area was empty, probably because Atlanta has so many other great choices. (I would recommend a smaller, more exotic restaurant) I recommend the chicken spinach quiche - fantastic.
One last thought, the valet was expensive. What discount we got on the hotel room was made up for with the $20.00 valet fee / overnight. One plus, they have in and out service and were very prompt.

Five out of five stars!! Fantastic!

from abmsam211
My husband and I stayed here for a single night on October 17, 2004. I was attending a seminar in a nearby section of town, and bid $40 for 4* Downtown Atlanta. We happily won the Omni Hotel. The lowest posted rate on the hotel's own website was $129.

Immediately after booking this room, I registered as a Select Guest on the Omni Website, and was asked to choose certain room particulars for my profile (i.e. high/low floor, feather/foam pillows, king/double bed, etc.). This program is free. Upon arriving at the hotel, my key was waiting for me. We were granted each and every request, and more. I received a card to hang on our door that specified our choices for a complimentary morning beverage and newpaper. We were also able to choose what time we would like these items to be brought. (I asked for a 7:45 am delivery, and the knock came at precisely 7:45 am!) We stayed in the North Tower, the newer of the two towers of the Omni. This 28 floor building is beautiful inside and out. Our room was on the top floor with a beautiful view of the city. It was nicely decorated and had a gorgeous bathroom that any girl would love. I could find nothing wrong with the room, and I was searching! The bed linens were incredibly comfortable, I would guess 300 thread count.

Each employee that we interacted with was unusually professional and courteous. Priceline was not mentioned at check-in, only that our reservation was prepaid. Be aware, though, that valet is the only parking option offered by the hotel, and a $20/night fee is charged to your room. If you are interested, there is a parking lot located down the street for $8/night, but we opted for the safer valet.

This hotel is literally attached to the massive CNN Center, which is also across the street from Phillips Arena, Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, and the World Congress Center. The atrium at the CNN Center houses many dining options, mostly fast food. We took advantage of the Taco Bell for a late night snack, and Chick Fil'a for breakfast.

Overall, I would rate this hotel a 5 out of 5 stars. Fantastic service, accomadations, and location.

very nice

from A TripAdvisor Member
We were very pleased with the courteous staff--from the valet parking to front desk to the bell service and to housekeeping--there was nothing that we asked for that we werent given-and very courteously as well--My only problem was not being to able to find the inside entrance from the motel to phillips arena--next time i will --though--would recommend it to anyone

WE LOVE THE OMNI!!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Our stay at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta was the best hotel stay of my life!! The staff is wonderful (Angela at the front desk is GREAT!), and the hotel is beautiful. My husband and I were in a suite in the North Tower. It was perfect! I would not change one thing. The location is perfect. The hotel is in walking distance of a lot of downtown ATL attractions. There is a "mini-mall" located in the CNN center, which is adjacent to the hotel and is only an escalator ride away. There is a restaurant and lounge inside the hotel. You can't ask for more! This is our new favorite spot!!

Staff treated me like visiting royalty

from Consultantgal
In addition to being a very adequate conference hotel with a great location and very nice rooms, the staff at the Omni knocked my socks off. I travel almost weekly and cannot tell you how exceptional every single employee I had contact with was - including the valet parking crew, even electricians and maids. I don't know what type of training program they have put in place but it is a winner. Hats off to the managment team AND all those really delightful employees. I was amazed and will stay at the OMNI in Atlanta from now on.

A very classy hotel in downtown Atlanta

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at the Omni while attending a conference from July 6-9, 2004. As others have mentioned, the hotel is exquisite. The attendants and staff were pleasant and accomodating. We did have a problem with my room key, which we did eventually straighten out, but it took several visits to the front desk. I honestly don't know what rate our group was charged, as it was paid for by our school. Overall, I think you get your money's worth. I do have a few peeves though.... 1) For the rate, there was no complimentary breakfast of any kind; 2) there was no refrigerator in the room (actually there is but I'll come back to that); 3) I went to look for the pool for an evening swim and didn't bother going swimming because the pool was so small and crowded with children at the time; 4) our group understood that there was a shuttle service from the Omni to the conference hotel - there wasn't. We ended up paying about $15-$20 PER PERSON for taxi fares - just to go basically around the block - far enough away though to be too far to walk. Finally 5) as I understand it, there is a stocked fridge in the room. It is locked. I had no interest in the 'stock'; I just wanted a place to place a soda from the evening so it would still be cold in the morning. I called the front desk to inquire about using the fridge and was told that I would have to put a $250 cash deposit down first! Of course, I just said never mind.
There were some positives - As noted before, the hotel is quite elegant and beautiful. There is definitely a lot of attention to detail. We stayed in a room with an awesome view of Centennial Park and the Atlanta skyline.
I would probably not object to staying here again, but I think that for the price that is paid, that some of the amenities are lacking.
