Great Food and Great Service

The prices were very reasonable and the onsite restraunts were fabolous. I ate in Alleys everyday and I will make it a personal goal of mine to stay at the Marquis on every future atlanta visit. Please take this advice and visit the Marquis in Atlanta you will not be disappointed at all.

Stayed Dec. 02, 2005 till Dec. 04, 2005. It was a wonderful time. We were there for the SEC Championship game and couldn't have been happier. Service was top rate. There wasn't one employee who did not ask us if everything was ok, or if we had a question of some kind. They were wonderful. Room was beautiful. Clean, clean and clean. View was wonderful. Would love to go back sometime.......Loved our stay.

Stayed at the Marriot for a conference on asthma. Ironically, I had really problems with my asthma and allergies while staying there. The air is stale and hard to breath for anyone with sensitivities. Even friends who did not have asthma had problems breathing in this hotel. I won't stay there again.

Loved this hotel! It is beautiful with its futeristic design (check out the elevator pods) and the room was nice and clean.My only problem was the front desk staff who were quite unhelpful, however there were other hotel staff that made the experience pleasant.Would go again in a heart beat!

I visited this hotel valentines weekend. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was the amazing atrium. It was certainly more than I expected. The checkin counter seemed very busy, but the staff worked very effeciently to expedite guests. The paking was very expensive, on the internet they advertised 10. valet, but it was actually 20. and they did not allow you to park your own car. The alternatives were to park on the street or a near by parking lot. We requested a room on the higher level, the view of the city from the 23rd floor was incredible.
I recommend a higher level room if you aren't affraid of heights. The room itself was pretty average. The bed was wonderful! I enjoed my stay at the marquis, but there were also several conventions along with the valentines crowd, did not make for a romantic stay!

The Marquis is magnificient! I have stayed there twice now. Most recently as a romantic getaway. Upon arrival (around 9pm), valet parking was full. A slight disappointment but there was ample & less expensive parking next door at Suntrust ($15 for night). The desk clerk was friendly and helpful and provided me with a king bed on an upper floor as I requested. The room was on 44th floor and was clean, odorless, and had a great southern view of the city. Room service delivered our breakfast exactly as ordered and exactly when they said they would (40 mins. after ordering). The only complaint I had was the refrigerator was not operable. Not even a little cool. When we called the desk, we were told it was not a refrigerator but a cooler to store non-perishables. (So why does it plug in?). Would I stay there again?........absolutely.

This spectacular hotel is a visual gem. We got a great online rate and had a wonderful experience. Connected to the Peachtree Center business/hotel/shopping complex, the Marquis is convenient for business and pleasure. The rooms were perfect, and the service wonderful. Even if you don't stay here, visit just to see the architecture.

Wow - Best Atrium in the world

With a 50 story atrium, oval shape and 13 glass elevators, the reaction of any visitor to the Marriott Marquis should be "Wow!" The public spaces of this hotel are stunning, and the large lobby is great for just sitting and watching the people walk by and the elevators go up and down. Rooms are nice sized and all have floor to ceiling windows with excellent views of Atlanta. The bed is very comfortanble. Be sure to go to the 10th floor (if no recepetions or events or in progress) and walk around for fantastic views of the city and atrium. The bell staff is very friendly, along with the staff in the restaurants. While it can be expensive, I was able to get a $95 rate on Marriott's web site that included breakfast and parking (normally $20), but this was during the Christmas holidays when the hotel had very few guests and no conventions. I had two very minor problems with my room I mentioned in the hotel survey. When I got home the hotel sent me a written response (on paper, not an email) apologizing and said they would correct the problems. I also got an email from the chief engineer of the hotel apologizing. I was very impressed. If you love great architecture and aren't afraid of heights, a stay at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis is a must.

Note: The exterior of the hotel is being refurbished, and rooms on the south side currently have dirty windows and a good chance of a construction worker hanging outside your room in the daytime. There is also some noise from cleaning and repairing the concrete. Repairs are complete on North side rooms.

After a long day of meeting's and business conferences, I have to say "The Marquis Was So Compfortable." The staff was fast and so nice, and the room was immaculate. This is not only the right place for business, but for family and getaways all together. Thanks.

The staff at the Marquis are very nice. Enjoyed visit, especially the elevators, and the atrium. The pool is very neat. Hope to stay there when we return to Atlanta.

It's beautiful to be sure, but don't stay there if you have vertigo or are afraid of heights. I have extreme vertigo and didn't know about this hotel. You have to walk across narrow "floating" zigzagging catwalks to get to the glass elevator which shoots up like a crazy amusement ride to over 40 floors. There is no other way to get to your room (they need a service elevator for acrophobics). I tried, but just couldn't do it. I almost fainted. Fortunately, the management was great about it. Apparently, this happens from time to time with this hotel.

It is incredible, though. I can't vouch for the rooms (couldn't get there), or the restaurants (couldn't get there), but the atrium is quite a site and the staff and management are incredible and professional. I saw a lot of kids who loved doing the elevator and got a real kick out of the hotel. If heights aren't a problem for you, you really should experience the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta. If they are a problem, though, this is not the hotel for you.

This is a first-rate hotel in every respect except one: the food. The Marquis Steakhouse, which is the only restaurant open for dinner, is expensive (figure about $35 per person, not including dessert), and the food is very disappointing. The Champions Sports Bar, which serves sandwiches, burgers, and salads, is also quite poor. And unfortunately in this area of Atlanta there are not many restaurants outside the hotel to choose from. The staff and service are excellent, and the architecture of the hotel, as others have mentioned, is unusual and impressive. But if good food means a lot to you, you may want to stay somewhere else.

Top Local Tips for Atlanta

Scary Rush Hour! Don't try to enter Atalanta from the interstate during morning or afternoon rush hours unless you are REALLY experienced. It was a nightmare! I was very tired by the time we got to our exit at around 8:00 a.m. Luckily, there was no chance of falling asleep at the wheel once I was thrust into the 8 lane highway of complete terror and doom that is Atlanta! White-knuckled is a tame description! So just be careful with that - it was a rather harrowing experience.

Crime is Alive and Well at Marriott Marquis...DO NOT STAY HERE Avoid Atlanta downtown hotels it is obvious the Atlanta crime problems exist within the hotels and management knows it! Enjoy events but stay in suburbs.

Take the MARTA! The MARTA (Metro Atlanta Regional Transit Authority?) is a great way to get around town if you don't have a rental car. You can buy a pass for a day or week and it's really easy to use - especially from the airport.
