This place was fab! Had a wonderful and romantic weekend here on part of our holiday in America. Loved the room and the big nice comfy bed. Would defintely stay here again.

Loved the JW marriott!!

After a tireing flight from LA my family needed a good hotel to stay in. When we got to the JW marriott there was a friendly staff waiting for us. They told us everything we needed to know about the hotel and the lemon and oange water in the lobby was very refreshing. When we got to our room we were really tired. The beds are to die for comfy and the non- foom ruber pillows are nice. The hotel has a beautiful pool and spa tub. The jym has lots of nice woorkout michenes and has two fuley equiped loocker rooms with a sauna and showers. The buffeat is good in the morning and if you don't make it to the early buffeat there is always a great breakfast. It is also nice because it is conected to a mall and you can always go there if you don't want to go into atlanta. Wonderful expereance. Loved it!

Definitely worth it!

Got two weekend nights at the JW Marriott in Buckhead for $69 a night on Priceline. The room was comfy and clean, with nice furnishings and features. It's also connected to the Lenox Square mall and a short walk from Phipps, which is a treat for shoppers. If you can't walk and don't want to drive, the hotel offers a driver to take you to your local destination. After a full day of shopping and sight seeing, the hotel lobby offers a nice selection of cocktails and a dinner items, all of which are reasonably priced. The downsides were the thin walls, we could hear the alarm of the person in the room next to us go off several times as well as hear his conversation, and a poor job maintaining and cleaning the room by the housekeeper. The tub wasnt cleaned out and the coffe supplies werent replenished after our first evening. However, when the front desk was notified, the problems were promptly taken care of and resolved.

JW Mariott for the price of a Courtyard. Loved it.

Got put here when I named my price. Did we get lucky! Wonderful location in Lenox Mall altough we found it hard to get in and out without mistakes. Good sized room, nice amenities. Concierge couldn't have been more helpful. $15 self parking high and $10 day for high speed internet is too much. We used dialup at $1.00 per local call. I don't know why less upscale chains can afford free access while 4 and 5 star hotels don't give it away. I hate the feeling I'm being nickled and dimed. In room safe convenient. Staff helpful. And to confirm, we're jeans and guccis people and never felt like we were underdressed.

Great stay

The rooms are very nice and the food is great. The best thing about the hotel is that it is connected to the Lenox mall. Also, they had a nice driver who took us and picked us up from dinner so we did not have to drive. Traffic in the area is crazy and stressful. We had room service breakfast that was really good and they have great choc covered strawberries! Everyone was nice. Would stay there again, especially to go shopping.

Decent Hotel

I stayed at this particular hotel for business. My girlfriend came along with me and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel as well as the surrounding area during the day. The connection to the upscale Lenox Mall put her in paradise. Lenox Mall is not for the faint of heart as far as money is concerned. The nearby restaurants were a bit pricey, but there is a price range available for whatever you want to spend.

The hotel itself is not that fancy, but it is clean, convenient, and the service is on par with much finer hotels. Nightly turn down service for me is a waste of time, but they provide it. A room safe is provided, and it came in handy. I must also add the fact I left $2,000 in the safe, but forgot to close it. The remarkable thing was it was all still there when I came back after the maid had cleaned up. Maybe she saw it or maybe she didn't, but the fact is it was still there.

The lobby bar has nightly piano music, but the selection of tunes can be a bit boring. I'm a wine drinker, and the bar is not stingy on their glasses of wine. The parking fee of $15 per day could be argued at being excessive, but it's in line with many fees that I have paid in my travels.

All in all I feel this is a decent hotel, and I would recommend it.

Mediocre at best

Okay, it has marble & granite finishes, is connected to Lenox mall and has good service. But lacking in the finer elements. I had a high level room with a nice view. Each morning room doors were slamming, the doorbells on each room were ringing & the paper thin walls separating my room from the next enabled me to evesdrop on conversations i would rather have avoided. This place is more like a main stream Marriott. For a better stay at similar rates, try the Westin Buckhead just a stones throw away, or the Intercontinental or Grand Hyatt a half mile down Peachtree.

Fantastic hotel

Stayed here over the holidays while visiting family. Hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays, public spaces were gorgeous, and our room was clean with an extremely comfortable bed and a terrific view of the city lights. Service - from the bellman to the restaurant - was excellent. And, in respose to another poster, we arrived to check in while dressed in jeans and t-shirts, but we didn't pick up any "inferior" vibes. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was exceptional, with fresh fruits, omelettes, and a variety of pastries. Starbucks was right on site and opens early, and the hotel was literally connected to that shopping mecca, Lenox Mall.
My only caveat is that it's difficult to find the road that accesses the hotel the first time. You have to use the Lenox side entrance and follow a road adjacent to that in order to get to the hotel's main entrance.

Not my favorite Buckhead hotel

from legaljunkie
I am not normally a fan of the Marriott chain but I gave this one a shot b/c the JW is supposed to be more upscale and because of the location inside of Lenox Mall. This hotel is fine if you are there for business -- not stellar in terms of comfort of service. The rooms are fairly average but the lobby is much nicer than most Marriotts. My first choice would be the Ritz in Buckhead ---first class all the way in terms of service, comfort, food etc.... For the price of the JW, I prefer the Grand Hyatt down the street.

Maybe the people at the front desk could take courtesy classes?

Well the trip down was a nightmare - not a 'routine' traveler so I got caught in 5 pm Atlanta traffic. That was my mistake. The room was nice, the experience at the convention was wonderful, but the hotel restaraunt left a lot to be desired from a "southern" foods kind of person. But, I splurged, ate in there once and once was enough - the service was great, the atmosphere, the view were all great, just not the type of food I would have chosen.
Well I stayed for 3 nights, slept great, but wanted to make sure I didn't cheat on the bill so I tried to add the last nights snacks!! Mistake, and not mine - but the man at the front desk assured me he could "FIX MY MISTAKE"! And then went so far as to SAY ALOUD - I just hope you aren't charge twice.
WOW...Was he ever right - looked at my account this morning and to my surprise - I HAD BEEN CHARGED DOUBLE!!!!!
Okay to fix, only took 3 phone calls, and now I have to wait until as the man put it: "I'll see what I can do in 3 working days". Good thing I don't splurg on myself often! Come to think of it my bills will be due, maybe I should call and tell them, I'll fix it and it will only take 3 working days! Business ethics might be a good class for your company to invest in. I don't want to spread bad things about your hotel, so there is no need to make this public - I do however, want my bill corrected.

Top Local Tips for Atlanta

Eat at Houstons Eat dinner at Houstons, right across the street from JW Marriott's. Wonderful food & atmosphere. Even if you have to wait to get a table, it's worth the wait! The waitress we had there did a super job and made the dinner a more enjoyable experience.

Know where you are going Print out a Mapquest or get specific directions to tell cab driver, otherwise if you trust them, they will drive you all over town. Can get costly!

Basketball People from India are not exposed to a large basketball event. They must go watch a match at the Philips Arena and of course root for the Atlanta Hawks.
