Nice place to stay

My wife and I stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend. The hotel is decorated very nicely and the rooms very clean. Enjoyed my stay here very much except for there was an hour wait for breakfast in the room on Sunday morning. We were told that the hotel kitchen was very busy. We ordered in room breakfast for one because the menu was very pricey for in room service. The bill was $37 for breakfast for one; of course my wife and I split the meal at these prices. We were able to get the room below the regular rate because we used a family employee discount. I would definitely stay at this hotel again as long as it is below the regular room rate.

The Hyatt is Wonderful!

I must say that the Grand Hyatt is a wonderful hotel. I chose this hotel for my guests to stay in for my wedding. The service was wonderful, the rooms were beautiful, and everyone enjoyed their stay. The staff was attentive, and were more than happy to help us distribute gift bags to the guests. If there were ANY problems at all, they were solved in 15 minutes or less. Finally, the catering department was flawless in helping my mother to host a sunday brunch for the departing guests. The food was great, and everyone was very happy with the hotel in general.

The rooms were all beautiful. The luxury suite we used for hospitality was especially nicely appointed, and the Hyatt did alot to help my mother with flowers and decorations. The regular rooms were also very nicely appointed with the most comfortable beds I have every slept in (away from home).

I looked at all of the hotels in the buckhead area before chosing a hotel. The Grand Hyatt was the best combination of location, price, and superb service and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting atlanta.

Lovely Place with Great Service

The hotel is beautiful, from the lobby to the rooms, and we couldn't have asked more from the service staff. We had a very late arrival and yet the service was as on the spot and attentive as if we were checking in at 3 pm. Room service provided us a nice club sandwich at 1:30 am when we just wanted to have a bite and hit the sack.

The rooms are lovely; we had a corner room with lots of light and a great skyline view. The bed has down pillows which we could not use; there was one foam pillow provided in the closet but requests for extra foam pillows were met with a delivery of 3 more within five minutes of our call. The closet was a nice touch; a place to hang full legnth items, stow luggage and house a full ironing board with iron, as well as complimentary robes.

Renovations are still ongoing but did not impact us other than the lounge having been moved to a different floor; our weekend stay was very quiet.

The location is great; located in the middle of buckhead and close to shopping and night life. If you need a break, just around the corner is the AMC Buckhead Backlot where you can watch recent release movies while a server brings you a beer and a meal.

We booked online and got a great deal; great value for the cost. We plan to stay again.

Wedding Bliss

My daughter got married in Buckhead Atlanta last week, and the entire wedding party stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. Everyone raved about the hotel. It added so much to our whole wedding weekend. Everyone at the Grand Hyatt is pleasant and friendly; the surrounding area is great: shopping, restaurants, and the restaurant and cocktail lounge are great (even though there is currently some construction going on). Yes, it's an expensive hotel, but for those who have discriminating taste and high expectations, it is well worth the price. Thank you everyone at the Grand Hyatt for making my daughter's wedding weekend so pleasant, convenient, and downright elegant!

We visited this hotel for our anniversary and Valentine's Day. The service was excellent I must say, however there were a couple of problems. First, the rooms were just average I'd say and second they are doing construction on the lobby lounge which is on the 1st floor. We were on the 11th floor and could hear it loud and clear. They did take 50.00 dollars of the room for the incovenience, however if you must stay there I recommend staying up on a higher floor or wait until after they are finished with the construction.

Nice Hotel

We stayed here for one night during Valentine's Weekend 2005. The room was nice. We had gotten a good rate on Priceline. I don't think full price woudl be worth it at this hotel.

Please note that there was some construction going on there in mid-Feb 2005, that was QUITE loud, even in our 7th floor room. I highly suggest that you check if that is still going on if you plan to be in the hotel during day hours. It went on all day Sat and did not end until 6pm and then was scheduled to start again at 11am on Sunday. It was VERY loud drilling, so please be sure to ask about this.

All in all, a good trip. I had never been to Buckhead and was surprised to find that the area was more subarbian than I expected. Not a bad thing, but I do think you would probably want a rental car. We had planned on jsut hanging out in the area on foot, but, since we arrived at 10am and couldn't check in till 3pm, we ended up going to get a rental car to go out of town for the afternoon and were glad that we had it. They do have a van but I don't think it starts working till 10 or 11 on Saturday. I assume the same or later on Sundays.

Great second honeymoon!

My husband and I celebrated a second honeymoon at the Grand Hyatt in Atlanta January 22, 2005. It was fantastic! We left the children with grandparents and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Hotel staff were extremely nice and accomodated all of our needs. They even brought us a key to the mini fridge. At checkin we said we didn't need one and then changed our minds. They were at our room door in less than 3 minutes with the key. Valet parking was great! Our vehicle was ready to drive off in when we exited the lobby. The room was very clean and truly a non-smoking room. Bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in (including my own bed at home). Breakfast was superb! We booked our room on-line (the shopping package). Cost was $169. Taxes are high! Total bill was a little over $200, BUT you get a $25 gift card to Lenox Square Mall or other Simon Malls. Hotel is a couple of minutes away from Lenox Square Mall. Valet parking was only $4/day with the package (normally $19/day), and you got a $42 spending voucher for breakfast which was enough for the full buffet plus drink and gratuity. Great value for the money! Absolutely a must stay again soon!

Good location, beautiful hotel

Great location within Buckhead just around the corner from the Lenox Square Mall. Good service, standard clean, modern decor and rooms one would expect from a Grand Hyatt. Comfortable beds. My only complaint, and one I don't often find myself having to make but have twice on this trip (here and at the JW Marriott in New Orleans) is thin walls. We could clearly hear the conversations in the room next to us (word for word) which by all appearances were spoken in regular tone of voice. To make matters worse our neighbors stayed up late in the night. We got revenge, however, when our 6-month old woke up screaming for a good 20 minutes somewhere between 3-4am!

Park at own risk in open lot!!!

If you stay here don't park in their open lot across the street. $15 and our Tahoe was broken in to and Hyatt is NOT responsible and seemed to not care. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you use valet parking which is under the hotel and secure. Hotel rooms are very average. You are paying for the lobby decor and landscaping outdoors.

The best hotel in Atlanta

We go to Atlanta many times each year, and this by far has become our favorite hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food, which is rather pricy, is excellent. We enjoyed the main dining room and room service during our stay. Made a Priceline bid of $70, and were able to upgrade to a king corner room for an extra $20. I would be willing to pay fullprice for this hotel.

Top Local Tips for Atlanta

Get a car Despite what you may hear, Atlanta is a driving town. You really need to rent a car to get around, or be willing to shell out big bucks for cabs. This hotel is not very near the downtown area, and there is plenty of parking in downtown, so a rental car is your best bet.

Commuting from Airport to Grand Hyatt Grand Hyatt-Buckhead is about 18 miles or so from Hartsfield Int'l....and if you're trying to get to the airport during peak rush hour...it will take extra time since you drive through Atlanta.....keep this in mind if you're trying to get to the airport on a weekday late afternoon! Also, if you have 2 or more travellers, it's recommended that you take a taxi. The cost from airport to hotel is a flat fee of $38 plus $2 for an extra passenger. There is a shuttle but it's $20 per person and you stop at multiple hotels. So the shuttle will be more economical for 1 person, but for 2 people the taxi is the best way to get there for the same price without all the stops!

Great setting and great food Canoe is a great restaurant located on the Chattahoochee River with patio dining. It is convenient to Buckhead. Reservations are recommended and can be easily obtained if you are willing to dine around 6 p.m. or so on most any evening. The menu changes regularly according to seasonal finds and I have yet to have a meal there that was not delicious.
