Historical Traveller Reviews of Artmore Hotel

Perfect place to stay!

from bcity4
I recently stayed at the Artmore while I was in town for a wedding. From the moment we pulled up until we got our car back from the valet the next day, everything about our stay was wonderful! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were prompt to valet our car, even though we returned to the hotel quite late! Check-in and check-out were a breeze-- I couldn't have hoped for anything better.

The room was very nice. The king size bed was very comfortable and the room had a very large walk-in closet. While the bathroom was on the small size, it provided ample room for both of us to dress and shower.

Both the bar and courtyard were very nice and provided space for myself and other wedding guests to meet and relax before and after the wedding.

The Artmore is definitely a gem... I can't wait to stay again when I return to Atlanta!

We love the Artmore!

from jess3707
The beds are comfy, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is chic. It was very clean and sleek. The bar is cool. Breakfast was tasty and delicious. We love the Artmore!

t stay at any other hotel in Atlanta...

from MrForager
I give the Artmore a thumbs-up across the board. Why would anyone want to stay in a sterile, cold, no-personality, much costlier commercial hotel (like the nearby Marriott) with the Artmore around? Ignorance, I guess. The place opened very recently on the site of a former Best Western, I believe, and word isn't out yet of how much hipper the Artmore is. In no particular order, here is what I liked about the Artmore:

1. The cool New York-boutique hotel-style lobby decor, especially the shifting colored lights behind the main desk.
2. Prices that even I, a scuffling freelance writer, can afford,
3. The location -- within (a New Yorker's) walking distance from two L.A. Fitness gyms, the luscious Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum (the latter two almost around the corner), the Margaret Mitchell House, and lovely Piedmont Park.
4. The warm and efficient staff members, notably general manager Michael Halpner (a displaced New Yorker, I learned) and marketing director David Van Tassell.
5. The breakfast buffet.
6. The red pillows against the eggshell-white bedspread.
7. The front courtyard - an inviting place to visit with your friends for hours.
8. The close proximity (same block) of the Marta subway station, which connects directly with the airport.

What i didn't like about it:

Nothing!

They Get it Right

from thjimmy
Don't be confused by the low rates (half what you would pay at that dump W Midtown around the corner). This place is exactly what you are looking for. Centrally located, closed to the subway, clean cool (powerful a/c ) rooms and a subdued, friendly atmosphere. This place is a real find. believe the other good reviews, and disregartd the older reviews from when it was the Granada Suites.

Fabulous Price for a Wonderful Small Boutique Hotel with Friendly Service!

from steveo48
OK, sweet darlin's, listen up! This is simply a great deal on a really cool boutique hotel. I stayed here for 4 nights on a combination business/pleasure trip with my wife and we loved it! $87.50 per night for the King Room, with a wonderfully comfortable kingsize bed with beautiful linens, free wi-fi internet access throughout the hotel, luxury toiletries, charming courtyard with outdoor seating, a great midtown location, a cool little bar, walking distance to some very good restaurants. and the friendliest, most responsive service you could ever ask for. Yes, I said $87.50 per night! It's only about 3 blocks from from the Four Seasons Hotel, so if you want to spend 3 times as much and stay in a big, impersonal, corporate, luxury hotel, please do so, but for my money and pleasure, I'll take a well-managed, hip little boutique like the Artmore any time, any place. (Heck, in Los Angeles, where I'm from, you can't get a king bed at an Embassy Suites or a Days Inn for $87.50 per night!)

Stay in the Artmore

from TexasTraveler020
My daughter and I loved the Artmore. Our room was beautifully decorated, the bed was amazingly comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a jacuzzi tub. The linens and towels were luxurious. The staff was welcoming and helpful and helped us negotiate our way around the city as well as recommending a great restaurant for dinner (go to South City Kitchen!). The breakfast buffet was delicious. I have already made reservations for this hotel again when I have to return to Atlanta in five weeks. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. We had a renovated King room. You do have to request a coffee maker - they are not automatically provided. Do request coffee cups. There is easy access to Atlanta Station and Marta.

Simply Outstanding to say the least

from committ2009
I was simply amazed by the Artmore Hotel. It lives up to its name, because the grounds and the rooms look like the work of an artist. I am a writer and I found it that i could find inspiration every where. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and by far this one was the best! The employees are all wonderful and make you feel wanted. My intentions were to stay only one night, but i was so pleased that I had to stay for a second night. Whenever I am in Atlanta, hands down, the Artmore will be the hotel of my choice.

What a compliment! I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience at the Artmore. We do have a unique property, and I am so happy that you were able to find such inspiration during your stay with us. The courtyard is the heart of the hotel, and since your stay we have added a great water and fire feature that you have to see! I hope we can welcome you back very soon!

Great hotel!

from kdsg
We loved the Artmore. The building was very charming and the room was great. The room was a bit small, but perfect my husband and I for the night. The bed was really comfortable and the linens were great. We spent some time at the hotel bar and got some great drinks (2 were free) and really enjoyed the courtyard. The free breakfast was also nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also the location couldn't be better. It is close to everything. On top of it being a great experience, the room was a great price. I highly recommend this hote.

Looking for a boutique hotel in a big city - this is it!

from Ms_Attorney
Formerly the Best Western Granada Suites Hotel, the ArtMore (now owned by World Hotels) is a gem. We (party of 7) stayed in two of the penthouse suites which are on the third floor of the hotel and offer two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, living room, dining room and full kitchen. You must specifically ask for these accommodations. While most units have two bedrooms and both bathrooms on the second floor, the accessible suite has a first floor bed and bathroom and a second floor. It was perfect for my 80+ parents. These units are not yet renovated like the rest of the contemporary suites and do need some refurbishing. However for the spacious accommodations, location (not far from Atlantic Station in midtown), wonderful hot breakfast, pleasant, courteous and fun staff - the price could not be beat.

Friendly staff in a great location for MARTA users

from MSRose
Stayed a couple of nights at this hotel and was pleased with the experience. Pros - great location with MARTA station across the street - perfect for travel to the sights downtown and a Braves game. Easy walk to the High Museum and and reasonable walk to the Botanical Gardens. Easy walk to good resturants. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed and clean room. Cons - had a king room and the bathroom was very small. Our renovated room was a mixed bag -looked like the counter tops were new and the wall decorations were new but there were cracked floor tiles in the bathroom. But for the price, location , and courteous staff, this hotel was a good value.
Management Response from AutumnSimerson
MSRhodes,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review here! I am happy that you enjoyed your stay with us! You are right, MARTA is the best way to navigate to the game. I appreciate your comments about the room as well. We are constantly working to imporve the entire guest experience, and feeback like yours is invaluable in helping us do that. When you return to Atlanta, I hope that the Artmore will be your hotel of choice.

Top Local Tips for Atlanta

Excellent Restaurant - Front Page News Loved Front Page News - the New Orleans style restraraunt near the Best Western Granada. It was on Crescent Avenue, near 12th Street. Plus there was a coupon at the hotel for use there. At lunch time, food is great. Atmosphere is relaxed, yet hip. Prices are reasonable.

Be Quick Heard that Hotel will not be a Best Western for long, so prices will be increasing

Use the martha (rail System) easy and safe to use the Marta (rail System) from the airport. very cost effective and took about 20 minutes for us to get to and from airport from the Best Western Granda
