Great Hotel, ignore the old reviews
from FLarchitect
We travel to Vero a lot on pleasure and business, and most of the hotels there are old and yucky. This past week we stayed at the brand new Vero Beach Hotel and it was AWESOME.
If there are any complaints here, it is from people who must have stayed there during construction or before it was open. The rooms are gorgeous, brand new and very comfortable.
Construction is going on for the 2 BR condos next door, but it is a wonderful place to stay. Their suites are very similar to Ritz Carlton, and I cannot imagine anyone being unhappy.

Returning the 3rd time - even better
from Loves the Caribbean
We stayed at this hotel in October 2003 & also in 2004 before the hurricanes. It was closed for a few years after the hurricanes, and has been completely rebuilt.
This hotel has gone from a 3-4 star hotel to a 5 star. It has become much more upscale from the rooms to the service.
We stayed for Father's Day weekend, and reserved 4 rooms for all of our family. We were pleasently surpised by the new ammenities and the all new contemporary rooms.
The Ocen view is great with the pool and a tiki bar which also serves breakfast and appetizer type snacks. The beach is smaller than before the hurricanes, but the lounges are nicer and the pool has small fountains and a jaccuzi.
The only draw back is that there is not a nice restaurant in the resort, but the Ocean Grill, which is walking distance from the hotel (1 block) is awesome. Plan ahead and make reservations for the time that you will be staying at the resort.
You will not be dissapointed with this hotel choice.

A Ritz in search of a Paris
from worstprezever
This swanky condo/hotel was obviously conceived during FL's real estate boom years over champagne & caviar. It's overkill in for this modest riviera beach town. Head-and-shoulders above the competition, x100, your nextdoor neighbors being motor lodges & springbreaker-type places.
Try not to think about them paying a fraction of what you're paying, for the same beach. Remember, Muffy, Buffy & Morty arn't sipping Bellinis at their poolside bar, like they are at yours.
Your room will be chocked full of pricey nuevo colonial/asian furniture. Marble & glass everywhere. If small children are present, it's time to panic.
Upon check in, Ken, the concierge & bon vivant of the hotel, will insist on accompanying you to your room & turning on all the tvs. Don't ask him plebian things such as where to buy baby formula, that'll elicit exasparation. Remember to tip.
And the best part is, your room's for sale! For $750K & up, you can own the grandest condo in Vero. What a great investment, no?!

Stayed again and even better than the first time.
from huha1
Stayed in a 1 bedroom. Room 201 and it was better than the first time I was there. This room is on the second floor and had a wrap around balcony! You look out at the ocean or the pool because it is a corner unit. the food is great and the workout room is 1st class even though it is a little small the equipment is state of the art! Will stay again and try to get the same room this next time for the best view!
nice rooms, but no wired internet and some problems upon opening
from Brainy_Babe
Went to VB Hotel and Club for one night. Rooms were beautiful (start at one bedroom and everything perfect inside - they are brand new) exCEPT the wired connection doesn't work for the internet (we were told the 24 hour manager who was supposed to be on duty wasn't- she didn't answer her phone - pretty pathetic) BUT a nice night manager tried to help... very kind... Turned out wired didn't work in any rooms although wireless did (but for certain secure networks, IP phones etc... the wired needs to be up) so that was a bit of a bummer.
Also had to wait over a half hour because they had to process credit cards by hand. Granted they'd just opened 48 hours earlier so have to give them a little bit of a break... BUT they need someone on hand at night who actually A) knows the internet company or anything about the net B) knows the credit card system- in the end had to pay cash!!
So they need to work out the kinks.... Also still major construction right next door and out our window so be careful.... not completely finished - temporary chain link fences outside but i think it'll look really nice when it's all done!

Bait and Switch

They book you in a family suite, only to be told upon arrival that it is not available as the former guests extended their stay. So take the portable refridgerator that they are "lending" you to make the smelly room they end up giving you into a suite and offer it to a science class to use as an experiment in growing mold. We have met 3 other familys since then that were duped as well.
Closed for reconstruction
from BlueRusso
The Vero Beach Hotel and Club's building was stripped down to its concrete skeleton after the hurricanes of 2004 ripped off substantial chunks of the outside walls. The building's exterior is almost entirely reconstructed in a new style, and a second building is beginning to rise.
Not much to do
from A TripAdvisor Member
Nice hotel but the name makes it seem like it's more than it is. The hotel was clean and the staff were very nice. We went with 3 small children and spent most of the time at the pool. They have a decent size pool and a small children's pool that was not inviting at all. The paint in the pool was chipping and it just looked dirty. The beach is really nice and private. I thought the price to rent a chair for the beach was exorbitant. The hotel staff were not very attentive when we complained about noise in the pool area from young teens in the jacuzzi after midnight. I don't know why it's called "hotel and club" there wasn't much "club". When we left we were charged a RESORT FEE of $10.00 per day which we were told was for the newspaper we found at our door each morning and the use of the hotel robes! We disputed it and it was refunded. After speaking with the hotel personnel and booking our trip we were under the impression that there would be more to do for us and the children so overall, we were a bit dissapointed in this hotel.
Loved Vero Beach
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I brought our 2 girls to Vero Beach after a fun week at Disney World...we stayed at the Vero Beach Hotel and Club and loved every min. of our stay there. The room was large and very clean! The beach was amazing...there were times when we had the beach to ourselves..it is very private and very lovely. The hotel is situated in a such a great spot because it is walking distance to shops and places to dine. We will definately come back once the hotel reopens.
great place to relax
from debeka57
Stayed here for a family vacation with 2 kids in a 2 bedroom suite. Nice hotel, great access to beach and pool. Room service was great. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Rug in suite worn. No direct oceanfront 2 bedrooms--room 402 has the best view. Close to everything at the beach. Try the Ocean Grill for dinner--does not look like much from the outside, but wonderful food.
Top Local Tips for Vero Beach
Gorgeous Oceanfront Vero Beach is a hidden place in Florida that is gorgeous. Most of the oceanfront towns north of Vero are old and dilapidated, but this city is very nice and quaint.
Ocean Grill Try it - and hope you are hungry!!!
Ocean Grill Go to the Ocean Grill at A1A and Rt 60. One of my very favorite restaurants.
