Classy hotel, Great Staff

from oahudrew
Beautiful classy hotel with a great staff. My wife and I went for our 27th Anniversary and it was perfect for that special occasion. Juan greeted us at our car and took us to the front desk and checked us in. Then he sent Gustavo for our luggage and he escorted us to the beautiful modern ocean front room with a balcony and also a porthole overlooking the pool. He toured it for us so we knew where all the special details were. We travel with our dog which is paper trained and when we came back after looking around the area the room was cleaned and even a fresh pee pad was put down by the housekeeper for our dog. Our room was right over the pool bar which rocked on Saturday night until 2AM. If you are a light sleeper you should request something away from the pool. They also have a fabulous restaurant. We will stay there again.

Get Away

from harley1947
The hotel is very South Beach and it was obvious that alot of $$ had been put in to renovating the place. Right on the ocean in a trendy beach area with shopping.
Our biggest complaint was it was VERY noisy. Because it's alot of tile, wood, concrete the sounds from the hall ways carried right into your room. Just a regular conversation was like the door was open to the hallway! We were on the ground floor and every time someone opened any of the exterior doors it was a giant wham when it closed and this went on all night. The pool bar was 3 doors away and we got all that noise.
The food is all gourmet Cuban and I liked it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I say go there, but don't stay on the ground floor or near the pool!

Este is the place to be!

October 25th 2008 was my Husband's "50th" birthday and I wanted to give him something extra special. He had mentioned a "get away" but didn't relish the thought of traveling. This lead me to check into things locally.

The staff at the Cosat d'Este Resort won me over immediately!!! They were warm, friendly, and accommodating prior to my booking with them, where another local 5 star hotel I had spoken to was not.

I booked the Penthouse Suite and planned a surprise party for that night to which the hotel staff continued to be as warm, friendly and accommodating as when I had first met them. Throughout the 3 week process of my planning the entire staff showed a genuine desire to make sure my plans went off without a hitch and that our stay was a special experience.

Each time I went to the hotel, I took time to observe the staff and how they were with other guests. Everone was treated with a positive attitude and respect. There will be another stay by us in the future, where we will try out the other amenities offered: Poolside Bar, Oriente Restaraunt, and Spa.

As a REALTOR, many times I need to be able to reccommend hotels to my out of town customers...This is one hotel I will certainly, highly, reccommend to everyone I meet!

The hotel is beautiful in a beautiful setting. The design, decor, and details of the hotel are amazing. I loved it.
There were only a few minor details ...the design of the bed lends to a nick in the watch it.
Also, the staff were not trained well..such as staff using the elevator a lot.....did not seem to want to help with dinner on the patio...every one wanted to have dinner pool side and they did not want to accomodate.
The staff needs some help.
I would go back without thinking twice.

Wonderful staff at a great beach resort

from OklahomaTrojanfan
The property is brand-new and everything is not only fresh and clean but beautifully decorated, calm, and different (in a good way) from staying at a chain hotel. As nice as the physical property is, I was even more impressed by the staff -- they were extremely helpful and friendly with everything from special requests at the time of reservation to recommending local restaurants to directing friends to the hotel.
The pool and pool area were very clean, not crowded, and a great place to relax, and adjacent to the beach.
The hotel is a little difficult to find, so make sure you get directions and study them before you head there!
I highly recommend this place and hope to stay there again.

Great Resort!

from MauiMaui_8
We stayed here 08/29/08 to 08/31/08. This was a perfect get a way for my husband and me. We are both 60 and live in Hobe Sound, FL. We were in room #332 which was a fabulous 2 room suite with a balcony overlooking the beach. The room was beautiful with 2 showers, a soaking tub, living/dining room and bedroom. Very tastefully decorated in beiges and dark wood. Very elegant and quiet. We ate at Oriente for dinner, it was okay food nothing great with Palm Beach County, FL prices. We are at the breakfast buffet twice which was good but pricey. You could not order off the menu on Sunday. we ordered room service one night at it rained. The Oriente Bar was nice and the drinks were good. The pool area was very nice and the Mojito's at the pool bar were great. The staff especially Monica smiley was very nice and professional and knew our names. Upon entering the lobby you could smell insense and it was wonderful. I had a great time and would recommend this resort to anyone. Gloria Estefan did a wonderful job with her hotel!!

Love chic Costa resort

from DelrayTraveler
This resort is one of the coolest places I've stayed at. Not sure what some here are talking about re: service. Ours was first rate... comparable to a 5-star, big-city hotel. Rooms are very stylish with teak, marble, and high-end linens. Shower is huge with awesome rain-type head. Cuban food at Oriente restaurant outstanding. Highly recommend steak sandwiches - sliders, I think they call them. Even hash browns at breakfast were best I ever had. Pool area overlooking beach is very cool and also there is a scene with music at night.

Great relaxing weekend

from FLdaytripper
We stayed there during the Fourth of July weekend and loved the place. We had a ground floor cabana room next to the pool and facing the ocean. The room itself was great. Very nicely appointed, nice furniture with a "green" theme throughout. The bell hop took time to go through the room to tell what everything was made of and where the materials were from. Nice little touch. The bathrooms were great and there was a mini bar in the room. The bar was empty since the vendor had not had a chance to fill it yet so we just had a small fridge for some water and a 6 pack.

The best part of the room (#126) was its location. We could walk out on to our patio and to our private lounge "beds" (no chairs but we could pull our room chairs outside). As it was next to the pool, we could walk 20 feet and jump in if we got hot or walk down the dune to the beach if we wanted to get in the ocean. You can't beat 20 feet from the pool and 50 yards from the ocean. Warning, there is a DJ at the pool during the day and the music can be loud if you want peace and quiet. The DJ moves to the restaurant at night and they turn Oriente into a night club.

We did not go to the restaurant, Oriente, but we did get food at the outside pool bar and some room service. Service was quick and the food was wonderful. Chicken empanadas were phenom.

Drawbacks--our room service tray sat by our door for 2 days. Pretty sloppy. Also, the layout is wierd. You have to walk outside by the pool or through a little storage area by the stairs to get from the lobby to the rooms. Not a problem our weekend but it could be bad if it was raining.

Check in was easy and valet was quick. They did not charge us for valet, not sure if it is complimentary or if they just forgot to charge us. It was the first (or second) week so there are still kinks to be worked out, but I will definitely go back again.

beautiful rooms, staff need work

from goldring
I wan to first say that the rooms were exquisite and the views unbeatable. We stayed in a 2 room suite which was really magnificent. However, it is unfortunate that a hotel, which has the potential to be a high class destination has such poorly trained, weak staff/.
When we arrived, they couldn't find our right reservation, the manager was supposed to call us when she sorted out our room, but never did...she was in an interview...I guess that was more important. The staff is sloppy and not amenable to go out of their way for their guests. The servers by the pool looked unhappy, and acted as if they were doing you a favor by getting a drink.
We had dinner in the Oriente that night. We walked in and were led to a table by the kitchen, as the nine tables further from the kitchen were empty we asked to sit at another table, the hostess said no. We asked again which led to a furious waitress and uncomfortable scene. We were not happy at all. We ate the paella, which was good...the diver scallops were amazing, but however good they were the mussels were bad. Honestly if you are going to make a paella in a fine restaurant, don't put mussels in that I could buy at Publix, or worse, 6 of the clams were not open...shouldn't they notice this before serving the dish?

Having said all of this, I would stay there again, because I loved the rooms. I hope that the give the staff some serious training. I did not meet one person that was professional. Maybe they should go to the Ritz Carlton for training?????

Opening Week

from missveroVeroBeach_FL
We checked in on Friday afternoon around 4:30pm and were greated by very friendly staff including the Manager Monica Smiley. We were immediately lulled into a state of serenity by the subtle scent of incense and the rushing water sound of the waterfall entrance. Gustavo parked our car, carried our bags and led us to our fifth floor ocean view room. He was very knowledgable and proud of the hotel's architecture and green atributes, pointing out the soy stained wood and details like the bull horn lighting fixtures, which helped us to be not too concerned with the odd industrial hallways between the main lobby and room accesses. He opened the balcony for our view, brought in ice and even gave us a tour of the well appointed bathroom, complete with green flushing instructions! (we loved his enthusiasm)We then went to the pool bar and were warmly greeted by Anna and felt so comfortable that we almost missed our dinner reservation. We dined at Oriente, the hotel's signature restaurant and had arguably the best food in Vero Beach. (See dinner review in tripadvisor)We could tell that we were one of a few parties actually staying at the hotel, given our warm reception and the complete quiet of the hallways. We had a very early reservation and were greated by David, the manager. Our service was wonderful, but again we picked a good time to be seated, by 7:30 the house was full. BEWARE of the locals because on this particular Friday night everyone was posing and displaying huge amounts of attitude. Being local ourselves, we understand the interest but not the attitudes. We suggest that you eat very early or late to avoid the demanding self important people and enjoy the pool in early morning or afternoon. After dinner, we retreated to our quiet room and enjoyed the crisp linens and comfortable bed which compares to our own Kingsdown. Robes and slippers are also provided. At 1am, we ventured downstairs to find the place completely empty and the soothing beach sounds restored.Breakfast service and food needs improvement but Monica Smiley earnstly listened and documented issues and we believe that all concerns will be attended to. Given the length of time opened, operating issues are understandable.Family and pet friendly, enjoyable and quiet, dinner not to be missed. Local place to be seen on Friday and Saturday nights. Summer rates are resonable, will double in the fall and into season. Staff will probably be jaded by locals by then, but we hope not.Also-we were told that Mr. and Mrs. Estefan had dinner there on Monday night. As wonderful as they are, we hope that everyone leaves them be and focuses on the beautful hotel and restaurant they have graciously offered Vero Beach.

Other Things This is a pet freindly hotel for dogs under 25 pounds. Nice touch. The are other restaurants within walking distance.

None There isn't much night life in the area!

Great Food There are many great places to eat withing walking distance of the cental beach area. Bobby's at the Holiday Inn, The Lemon Tree, The Pearl, the Tides, Ocean Grill, and Waldos. The Oriente at the Costa D'Este was also very good. For a cheap eat walk two blocks off the beach to Casey's.
