Best room at the Inn

We highly recommend Inn at the Beach for a family-friendly vacation spot. We searched various hotels via the web for something close to our relatives, and happened upon Inn at the Beach. When my husband called about reservations, he spoke with the manager who answered all our questions about amenities and the area. Our room was spacious, very clean and neat, and had the most comfortable bed and pull-out sofa we've ever encountered during any hotel stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially when giving tips on area sights and activities. Other relatives have already booked a stay at the Inn, and we'll definitely return during our next trip to Venice.

Our family wanted an adventure and decided that Venice Beach was the place for us. We picked your hotel online based on location and reviews and we must say that the INN was terrific. No surprises, the room was good size, the short walk to the beach was exactly what we wanted and the staff was very helpful. Our family loved the beach where we found shark teeth, then a quick walk back to the hotel and the kids were in the pool and jacuzzi. Thanks so much for a rememorable adventure! We'll be back! Stayed for 4 nights. Chose the Inn specifically for location, but also because they said they have free wireless Internet as I unfortunately have to stay connected to the world. The wireless was extremely sketchy when it worked at all. I was seethingly mad about this as I had to rely on it. The last morning I had to find a McDonalds in the area that charged $2.95 to get access to email. I hate it when places say they "have wireless Internet" and have no idea if it works well or not. Also, as an adult on vacation, I did not enjoy the fact that the pool closes as 10 pm, even though they allowed us to stay until 11 pm. Other factors: The beds are not doubles as advertised- they are "3/4" beds. The rooms had space for bigger beds. Didn't spend all day there so it was acceptable with the completely inacceptable wireless Internet situation.

Stayed here over the 4th of July for 3 nights and had a great time. Everything from the room,the staff,pool,and free continental breakfast was outstanding. The rooms were very clean and the maid staff was super. The property was gorgeous and very well maintained. Every employee we came in contact with always very accommodating. We had our 2 children ages 2 and 10 and they both had a blast on the beach and the pool. As far as price you get what you pay for and this place did not let us down. Living only 90 minutes away it felt like we were along way from home. Would recommend this place for families and others look for some peace and quiet. JUST AWESOME.

It is a very clean nice little place across the street from Venice Beach. Also not far to historic downtown, can be walked to. Very nice staff, free breakfast. Will definately return!

Good location, average motel

Good location, next to Venice Beach. A 10 min walk into downtown Venice where the shops and bars are.

The motel was clean with friendly staff, but the room was average. It has a small pool and hot tub at the rear of the property.

The area lacks a bar, with the neaerst one in town. More a motel for families or older couples.

Not up to expectations

We were disappointed in this hotel. I booked it based on review on this site, so I think there needs to be a review to balance the rave reviews it gets here overall. It was acceptable, but for the money, it is average. On the good side, it was very clean and the location near Old Venice is great. However, the "beach view" was barely visible if I stood on tiptoes, and since I paid extra for that, I was disappointed. Room was small comparatively. Not a bad place to stay, but in my opinion, not a place to seek out.

Would recommend for the Venice area

We usually stay at Marriotts when traveling as you somewhat know what
to expect, but since there were none in the area and we were set on Venice we opted for the Inn at the Beach based on these reviews.

It's probably the best 2 star motel around; very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast and great location. We had a garden kitchenette, which was nice to cook our own food and have a little private patio. Only minor complaints are lack of paper towels for a kitchenette and the price was a bit high, but that's the deal for Florida during spring break. Also, it's very nice to be right across from the beach as parking (especially at sunset) was a major issue.

Venice is nice for a weekend getaway or family beach vacation, but not if you need a lot to do or see. We would definitely recommend The Inn at the Beach for those going to Venice.

We travel down to the west coast of Florida quite often and have stayed in a wide variety of hotels. We loved our stay here at Inn At The Beach. Of course the location is perfect, right across the street from the beach and located on the main road in Venice. We walked into town almost every evening. The rooms are spacious and very clean, every one we spoke with that worked there was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it highly to everyone.

We spent two nights at the Inn at the Beach in January of 2007. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. There's a very pleasant atmosphere, the breakfast is really good, and the rooms are extremely clean. The location is ideal too, being right across from the beach. I'd definitely go back.

Top Local Tips for Venice

Things to do Venice is an island, and geared a little less towards hoards of tourists (a nice change) and more to annual vacationers as there are numerous vacation and timeshare-like condo complexes around. There is hardly any crime and you will feel safe anywhere you go. We loved "Sharkey's on the Pier", it's a great place to spend a whole day out on the beach, the pier and the restaurant (right on the beach, great views!). A good place for dinner is the "Crow's Nest", for a good BBQ cookout-style meal, try the "Gold Rush BBQ" restaurant.

Bars TJ Carney - sheer lunacy (do people in the States go mad when they reach 40). It seemed that many folks who really ought to have been at home in a rocking chair, or thinking about their granchildren, still think they are disco dancing divas and enjoy publicly groping other like-minded baby boomers.------Crow's Nest - try that for a sane and civilised drink in a really good spot.

Nature at its best If you get down to the waters edge - where the inland waterway meets the sea by Venice harbour, early in the morning (around 7am) you will hopefully see the school of Dolphins who come swimming by into the ocean.
