Situated in the Village of Siesta Key, the location of this hotel is perfect if you like to be within walking distance to most everything this island has to offer. The newly renovated suites were very nice, with modern and stylish bathrooms - including a jacuzzi bathtub. Our suite also had a kitchenette, complete with a microwave, refrigerator, sink and coffee-maker - which was a very convenient feature. We also appreciated having access to the on-site washer and dryer as we enjoyed a swim in the outdoor pool.

UGH! Do Not Stay Here!

If I had paid 1/2 of what I paid per night, Maybe I wouldn't have been so grossed out. This was one of the worst kept places I've ever been in. Dark hole of a room (it was large though), breaker kept going off so that the lights wouldn't stay on, bathroom in disrepair, sheets didn't fit the bed, lousy mattress which kept slidding off the box spring which looked like it had come out of a homeless shelter, windows wouldn't open, only 2 small towels, no spares for the pool. Yes great location, but go elsewhere!

We happened on Siesta Key with its magnificent white sand beach. We ate at a great restaurant along Ocean Blvd. called The Patisserie, which was actually owned by a lovely family from England. Youe could have bangers and mash and bubble and squeak! But the Hotel we stayed at was the worse we heave ever encountered. It was the Siesta Beach Resort & Suites.
It was in disrepair with ants crawling over counters and blankets ripped and windows with hardware falling off. But the worse part was how rude the general Managaer was. There must be better places to stay on the Key.

I had read these reviews before booking my hotel. I had stayed at the Best Western many times before and thought they were a great hotel for the money. Well, I should have heeded your reviews. I even called the hotel and confronted them about the reviews. They said none of these were true. We certainly found out otherwise. We were told that no spring-breakers stayed at the hotel. On the day of arrival, the spring-breakers were sitting on the roof smoking. I thought Oh well, it will be ok. Well the breakers completely destroyed my four day stay and the office tried to make it out that it was my fault that we got no sleep for the entire stay. They claimed they called the police to put a stop to the noise and partying, but there was no police record of their calls. The desk said we needed to call all night to keep the place under control. This is not my job, it is the job of the establishment to maintain order. Also during the day, the breakers took over the pool and made so much noise that all the other guests left. When I originally call the desk said this was a mom and pop hotel and was always quiet. I contacted Best Western and they simply said they would contact the hotel. I never heard from the hotel, because they did not care.
Also the grounds were poorly kept and the hotel is not on the beach. So if you are planning a nice escape from the cold winters in March do not go to the Best Western Siesta key, it is out of control.

We stayed one night. Our room was on the second level, near the office.
I have to say this was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. We paid $175 for a tiny room. The bathroom was dirty and smelly. The one lamp in the room was broken. The air conditioner half-worked and was extremely loud - it kept waking me up. The tv remote did not work. The bed was old and very uncomfortable and the linens were not so clean. Short walk to bars, so that the very loud drunks walked by @ 3:00am - shouting.
This place was terrible.

Nearly choked on tobacco smell in non-smoking room

We stayed in a non-smoking room and our pajamas were ruined for the rest of the trip because of the tobacco odor that pervaded them from a one-night stay. The room we stayed in was old and somewhat shabby. Palmetto bugs or roaches were in evidence. Not what we hoped for or were expecting.

Great hotel and good price

We stayed in 2 unites, 2 Bedroom each.
The hotel is 2 minutes from Siesta Village (where all the shops are).
The hotel is 3 minutes from Siesta Beach.
The kitchen has all what we needed.
The customer service was great.
The Unit had microave, toaster and of course coffee maker.
One room is great, the othe room is smaller (for kids).
Will go there again.

Stayed here in Oct.
Pros: All staff we interacted with were very friendly
and accomodating. Across street from beach.
In Siesta Key village with its shops +
restaurants. Our bathroom was clean.
Cons: Though our room was clean, had a dated
feel, smelled a bit musty. Property is
not directly on the ocean.

Enjoyed our stay! Had a great time here!

We spent five days here and had a great time! The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a two bedroom Jacuzzi suite, and it was spacious and comfortable. The A/C worked fine. The pool was great; nice and clean. The beach access was conveniently located right across the street, and the beach was wonderful. The ocean is crystal clear and the sand is white and cool. We plan on coming back here again.

Love the beach - Hotel was terrible

Siesta Key is fantastic beach, but I would never stay at the Best Western again. I have never written a review before but felt compelled as my wife and I had the worst experience at any hotel I have ever stayed. We stayed for 3 days, and overall the A/C didn't work, we were never left towels after they (so called cleaned the room) Every request for new towels or a/c fixed was never returned until each day we had to go to the front desk. And to top off the trip my wife and I both developed a skin rash from the dirty sheets.
After several calls to the hotel manger over the course of several weeks, they were once again unreturned. Take my advice and find another hotel, as there are many in the area.

Top Local Tips for Sarasota

very few Most hotels in the past few years seem to have been replaced by privatly owned condos . I would sugest try to find a suitable condo to rent if staying on the key for 3 nights or more . If only visiting for a day or two then stay at Sarasota and visit during the day.

Siesta Key is GREAT! I advocate that Siesta Key may be the best locale to stay when visiting Sarasota, although Lido Key, Sarasota proper, and Longboat Key have certain qualities that may appeal to those with different interests, taste or needs. I have stayed in all 4 areas and prefer Siesta Key because it has, in my opinion, the most beautiful beach, the most active restaurant and street life available in the village, and a more mixed age clientele. Again, all of Sarasota's tourist areas are very appealing and each has its own strengths as well.

Scammed Siesta Key has an absolutely wonderful beach.It has a laid back village scene with the usual burger based menu's and American beer bars. It also has mosquitoes that will get you and snakes that most probably wont. Although it rains it is warm rain and usually clears up for next morning. Teenagers will probably be bored unless you go to a theme park which we couldnt afford but we were not there for that anyway. You will also need a car. Watch for the scam with owners of properties claiming 'damage' and keeping your deposit.
