Disgusting. Filthy. Ants all over the hotel. Staff don't want 2 know about any problems. Don't go near it with a barge pole.

Basic Hotel, but great for our needs as we only wanted a place to crash out in. Hotel/pool area clean, we had 3x rooms on the third floor facing the pool area, we would not like to have been on the opposite side as these faced the car parks and a busy main road. We didn't see any cockroaches at all, just plenty of lizards as is the norm, as we checked on the reviews before we went on holiday we were shocked to hear such bad reviews and wondering what the hell are we going to, but not at all, everything was great. Free Bus service to the parks - great thats why we picked this hotel - The hotel is the process of being re-furbished and would definitely go back when completed if we go to Orlando again.

Basic Hotel In Good Location

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks, the hotel is very basic but our sheets & towels were changed every day. We were put on the fourth floor and after speaking to others was a good thing due to cockroaches on the ground and first floors - we never seen one!! The free transportation was excellent, although times were a bit iffy the bus always arrived. Pool was excellent after a nine hour park trip just to cool off. Some of the bar staff couldn't speak or understand english which we found strange. We would probably stay here again due to the location and the hotel is in the process of being refurbished.

Book our holiday with a reputable holiday company i had no idea that she had put us into a basic hotel.I could have died when i got there. If your only staying a day or so fine but 2 weeks.Our room was infested with continually with cockroaches which they had to come and spray and remove the dead ones. In the corners of the room were they failed to sweep dust had accumilated over a period of time.The bedding was too small for the beds so by the morning the bedding had crumpled around you or it was hanging off the bed.The games room was full of old junk.And i was very worrid about the ducks swimming in the swimming pool not good health wise.I have been to better basic hotels It was an absolute disgrace The only saving grace is that they are doing a big refurbishment next year but thats it for me and Travelodges

Basic hotel - this is what you get for a low budget.Hotel room was clean and tidy. Air conditioning on out first room was unacceptably loud and noisy and I insisted to move to another room where air con was working properly.
Pool water not very clean and was very put off by the ducks you would see in it every morning...big health and safety issue here!!! Would I recommend this hotel - simple answer is no.

Location very good, staff very good helpful, maids very good, bar good, swimming pool good, did exactly what it said on the tin!!!! You get what you paid for if you want 5* then go some were else but you will pay $$$$$ for it!!!!!

Travelodge American Way is published as a two star hotel, and to be fair to it, it is just like every basic three star hotel/motel in Orlando. The rooms are basic but fine, as all you need is a place to rest your head at the end of a hectic day in Orlando. The pool was clean and tidy and the grounds were, again, typical of every three star hotel on i-drive. Staff were brilliant, as were their hotel taxi service. Reception were always friendly and helpful and ready to assist our every need. Security was plentiful and we felt safe at all times as we constantly saw a guard walking around the grounds. I praise the maid service also, one day me and my partner (in a hurry) had foolishly forgotten to close and lock our in room safe. Fearing the worst we returned back to our hotel at the end of the day and it hadn't even been touched our key was just laid upon our freshly made bed. Good hotel, very good service and an excelent location. Would go back again if on a budget.
In my opinion you go to florida to be out and about, and i love nothing more than to spend money at the theme parks, shops and other brilliant attractions. I wouldn't even consider wasting money I could spend on fun just to have nice hotel that I see for half an hour in the morning.

The staff here are among the most arrogant people I've ever meet. The beds in our room were torn and stained. The bed linen smelt foul, and the bath was filthy.

Top Local Tips for Orlando

Taxis Healthy eating If you're looking for a healthy eating place, try sweet tomatoes. Great for made from scratch soups, beautiful non sugary bread, and varied salads. If you want to see a magic orlando basketball match and haven't got a car, try taking a taxi, especially if there's a few of you. At $60 for up to five people the round trip can work out less expensive than the coaches deals on offer. We bought $45 dollar tickets (they start at $25) and believe me it was a great entertaining experience.

rental car a car is a must if you want to venture beyond the theme parks as there are plenty of things to see.

You don't need a hire car in Orlando Iride trolley costs $14 for 2 weeks and kids ride free. Get off at stop #7 and universal is a 15 minute walk. Taxi's can be quite expensive between $5 and one who ripped me off for $10. Number 37 bus goes straight to Universal, its $1.50 per person, kids 75 cents. The free shuttle buses that hotels run are handy but can take up to an hour to get you to the theme parks.
