Top Local Tips for Orlando

Taxis are expensive - get a rental If you're planning to see the attractions and/or shopping in Orlando, get a rental car. Taxis are very expensive in Orlando because everything is so spread out. A taxi to/from the airport is about $40-50. The yellow cabs at the airport are slightly cheaper than the private car service used exclusively by the hotel. We went to the Mall at Millenia which was wonderful, but taxi fare from the hotel was about $40.

Medieval Times in Kissimmee Don't waste your time and money--spend it on something more worthwhile like Cirque de Soleil! Food was not great and the management was terrible, although our server worked her tail off for little courtesy from many of the "guests."

Try non Disney/park places to eat! Bypass al lthe touristy stuff - Downtown Disney, restaurants on Disney properites, etc. (esp. during peak times - the waits are really bad) - the food is usually ok but super expensive. One of the best places I've eaten is called Moonfish - it's in Lake Buena Vista and we always go back!
