We just returned from The Nick on Sunday and I am sorry to say – it was NOT a pleasant stay.
This place resembles a $40.00 MOTEL room and not a $200.00 HOTEL……..and a “resort fee” to top it off?? OUTRAGEOUS.
As you can see from the pictures that I have attached, the room is totally filthy. There is mold/slime all over the bathroom, toilet, toilet paper holder – even the line installed above the shower to hang wet bathing suits on it had mold on it – TOTALLY DISGUSTING.
The floor has obviously not been mopped behind the doors, baseboards, etc. in quite some time – there is dirt and dust caked up everywhere.
The couches had stains and were rubbed thin – holes are starting to appear.
The crooked drawers are chipped with paint missing and they are falling out of the wall.
Speaking to other guests (parents) I was not about to waste my sons vacation moving from room to room in an attempt to find a cleaner version – because there simply aren’t any at this place. I should have gotten a clue when your employees didn’t want to “show” me a room and then again when I heard a customer at the front desk saying she had “just switched rooms” and still had an problem.
In addition, the woman security guard that is in the front guard booth is very rude – not sure what her issue is but you would think the least you could do is be “nice” to us!!! The other security guard that we encountered and the front desk employees were all courteous.
I am totally disappointed in our stay here. It looked so GREAT on the internet (my son was SSSOOOO excited) and it is an awesome idea to have “suites” with kids favorite characters and waterparks – sounds like a kid’s dream come true - but the unsanitary worn out rooms just ruin the whole concept and the whole vacation.

Univeral Studios NOT for Little Kids 5 and under... We took our 8, 6 and 3 year old to Univeral Studios and Islands of Adventure this year. Both parks have one small area geared up to 5's and under. The Island of Adventure has a Cat in The Hat area and the Univeral Studios has a play area that incorporates a Barney show and a Curious George water play area in addition to a few slides and rides. The rest of each park is not suitable for 5's and under since they feature almost exclusively rides that are height restricted and/or too frightening for small kids. I would recommend waiting until your kids are 6 or 7 at the youngest before visiting these parks. They are truly excellent parks but just geared up mainly to 2nd graders and up.
Stay at the nickelodeon hotel. this hotel is cram packed with things to do. you can safe money just by staying here. we had to drag the kids to the theme parks. they didnt want to leave the park.
Renting a Car Enterpise rental is located at the Marriott aross the street. Renting off the property near the airport is a hassle because it is so far. Suggest if rent from airport, return at nearer site and get taxi back. Maybe delayed unless you know your way around

at checkin they told me of my $50 hotel credit which I got when booking. thing is that I tried to use it for breakfast on our last day to be told we had no credit. I was sent to two different places (across the whole property) to find out they should have given me vouchers at checkin - all the while my family sat hungry. to remedy this they offered me a $20 credit on my account, but never applied it.
the staff dominate the elevator and told us to use the stairs - the nerve !
one cleaning staff sat in the gym for 45 minutes watching tv with the volume up loud making our workout very unpleasant.
the mini golf course was not cleaned off during our 4 night/5 day stay making it impossible to play due to the mulch and junk on it.
the golf and basketball areas are NOT monitored and little kids are almost trampled. staff seemed not to care when I brought this to their attention.
overall it was a miserable experience and we will NOT return. the room ended up costing $200.00 per night for the 2 bedroom. you can get much more in the way of courtesy and ammenities, not to mention safety and security, for your money by going somewhere else.
keep your kids in a safe environment and STAY AWAY from the nick
