World Resort...WORLD CLASS!

We have today just returned from a 21 day break at this hotel and started the holiday with some trepidation after reading some unfavourable reviews. The negative reviews are both unfair and unhelpful for guests.

We stayed in Block 1, not the tower, but it was clean and spacious. There was a nice balcony and air conditioning to die for! The bathroom, while not palatial, was perfectly adequate for a family of four, particularly as we had two sinks - one in with the shower and toilet and one just outside the bathroom area. The room had a coffee maker and copious amounts of coffee sachets - more if needed - and it also made a great cup of tea!

The beds - they are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and, in fact, we have taken the details of the manufacturers so that we can try to buy one for our home. Linen is changed as often as you like - we saved the environment and had the bed linen changed every other day, but the towels were changed daily.

The staff - they are so very helpful, ranging from the porters to the reception to the maids. They were all very polite and efficient.

There were some comments made on previous reviews about a damp smell and this was evident in the stairways leading up to the air conditioned corridor but was only due to rain falling on the carpet on the stairs and landing during the nightly storms and was not due to any poor housekeeping.

The pools (three of them) were lovely. We used the West pool, which also had a hot tub next door. The water in the pool seemed to be salt water and was well maintained. You get towels provided for around the pool so don't bother packing any before you leave home.

The hotel is so very well placed for visiting Disney and Universal (about 10 - 15 mins to each). It is also at the 'nice' end of International Drive, away from the brash tourist shops, though near enough to get to them if you want. Another huge benefit is that it is right next door to SeaWorld - we left the hotel one night to watch the fireworks at about 8.45 and were back in the hotel room at 9.20 - only a short walk away.

We had a lovely holiday at the Sheraton World Resort and will be returning again in the future. Take my advice - GO!!

I stayed at the Sheraton this summer, and it was the best hotel I've stayed at in a long time. The rooms were spacious and clean, the food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming, I will definitely be returning!

I stayed at this Hotel before (Sept.2003) and hated it then. I was so disappointed to see that the convention I attended was again held at this hotel. Lousy service, not suitable for large convention, never seen an air-conditioning this filthy, room was dirty, hair everywhere in the bathroom when I arrived - this hotel is definitely on my black list and I truly hope I never have to stay there again. At my first stay I filled out a survey and made clear how unhappy I was with my stay there - I never received a response. So this time I did not even bother to complain, but now that you ask me!

we came on the 2nd November for our first wedding anniversary, it was in fact our honeymoon, we have never been as badly treated anywhere in the world before as we were in your hotel. so I really would like to thank you for making it very memorable for us for all the wrong reasons. i can assure you that we will be telling everyone we know not to book with you

Top Local Tips for Orlando

Remember to bring some quarters if you have to travel along the toll road The toll road experience will be much more positive if you bring a few dollars in quarters to avoid having to wait in the long lines and go directly to the exact change lanes.

February It's winter in Feb same as UK so a bit cold at times, although 65% of time sunny and warm average about 70 degrees. Got a nice sun tan. Take a light jacket or fleece just in case. The rest of the suitcase just fill with usual holiday gear/clothes.

Be careful with filling up car rental at gas station on Semoran Blvd Gas is $3.59 at the gas station near the airport on Semoran Blvd. Stop an exit sooner and buy gas for a $1.30 less. This is "price gouging" or "predatory pricing" and should probably be investigated by the state attorney's office.
