When we arrived the room was lovely, but the end of the day why pay more for a fancy hotel if you only need the room to sleep and shower. The staff were very nice. We definitely are going back there again in 2010.

The location was very good, our room was near the motorway so it was very noisy, also air conditioning is even worse for noise. No wardrobe in room, or fridge. The room was very smelly too. 10/10 for location absolutely everything such as pizza hut, mc Donald’s, Tony Roma’s and I would highly recommend red rock canyon. I would also recommend booking yourself on the 8.15 shuttle to the parks as the later ones get very busy and you will end up standing up. Also, buy your park tickets on line because the parks are so expensive we recommend (travel city).Whilst we were leaving the hotel rooms some of them were being refurbished so that’s good news! And take your umbrella because it rains everyday in Florida. x

BW plaza International dr. Hotel is awesome, as long as u don’t expect too much. (It’s not a fancy over expensive hotel). It has a pool, little spa and a children friendly pool, a little poolside restaurant(very cosy, and great food) and a nice little reception, with good service, and a nice staff ,but it can be very busy during the day, so get in line and be nice and you will get good service. The hotel has also a little shop where you can buy things you need. The amenities of the hotel is nice, the rooms are divided after what you pay ,the cheapest rooms are small, but cosy, and the more expensive rooms are larger, and have more possibilities like cooking, and food storage,..(All rooms have standard furniture and TV, bathroom showers. All rooms have also Air conditions (use em with care, since you might get a cold if used during the night, so my advice use em only when you are out on the parks.(cool of the room and turn it of when you are back) P.S. if you are picky, ask for rooms that are not in the direction against the Highway, cause it might be a noisy experience, but the view on top is nice ,especially at night when wdw fireworks starts of.. As for transportation, you don’t need to rent a car here, since Disney shuttle buses, leave from the holding place outside the hotel, and brings you home to the hotel from time to time or after parks closing time. (Please keep in mind that you have to order your seating for the shuttle, in the reception and the time you want to leave for the parks the day before). These buses takes you also to the other parks, such as Universal Studios/Island of Adventures and Seaworld (bus at Seaworld connects also to Tampa Bush Gardens theme parks) the I-ride trolleys stops also right outside the hotel and have really cheap fares,.. Also keep in mind that the weather in Orlando can play some tricks on you, so watch the weather-channel, on your TV in your room and keep you updated, cause severe weather(thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail & hurricanes) might pop up from time to time and Florida don’t have warning sirens so keep that in mind. You can also get tickets for all the parks at the hotel, so you don’t have to stand in the loooooong lines at Disney or the other parks. The location of the Hotel, are also super, right in the middle of international drive, so put on some good shoes and take a stroll up and down the streets, there are a lot of fun to do in and around the hotel, as the Cineplex at point-Orlando or wonderworks, interactive theme park Universals Wet n Wild, waterpark,.. So enjoy your stay at Best Western Plaza Hotel international dr.. We are back this summer.

Staffed by thieves

Just returned from a 2 week break at this hotel. First thing you absolutely have to do is make sure you get a room facing the pool. Don’t accept any of the rooms facing the rear of the building as it would be like sleeping 100ft away from the M25. Good points … • Location is not bad on I-Drive • Pool is great • Rooms are similar to Travelodge and were basically clean and ok. Bad points … • STAFFED BY THIEVES – We had $130 worth of perfume stolen by the cleaner. The hotel General Manager was meant to be holding an investigation but never responded to my phone calls and was always out when we called. Talking to some other Brits by the pool we found that we were not the only ones either. • Reception staff were the only miserable people we came across on the whole holiday – We really got the feeling that we were an inconvenience. I’m not sure that the word abysmal is strong enough. • One night of the holiday the place was filled with partygoers on a local car rally. The hotel staff were unwilling or unable to quiet them down and the noise went on until the early hours of the morning. This was not helped by the hotel barman getting all carried away and turning the music up in the bar so loud that the windows in my room vibrated. As usual the hotel reception staff were useless and did nothing to shut him up so it was left to me to storm in there and vent my anger personally – Not something I’m meant to have to do on a relaxing holiday. • One other thing – Not related to the hotel – Avoid a place called LA China at all costs. We asked the price of a buffet and were told it would be $7.50 per head. 6 people in the party heard the staff confirm this price. After the meal, the price shot up to $12.50 per head and then they had the audacity to complain to me when I never left a tip. In summary, if you do find yourself at this hotel and cant move then make sure your room is pool facing, don’t expect any sort of service and please lock up absolutely everything as if you don’t it will get stolen. If anyone wants any more detailed tips on the location then please feel free to email me – stuartadair@btopenworld.com

Have stayed at Best Western about 5 times. Great hotel. Clean, friendly, ideal location for all parks. Can't fault them. See you again in 3 weeks!!!

I do not like huge hotels. This one is the biggest of the Best Westerns but definitely not one of the best. I stayed in a lot of different hotels including Best Western in PA which was quite good. This one is kind of old, downbeat, terrible architecture - it consists of separate ugly looking buildings, no real reception / lobby, no restaurant - nothing exceptional. I'd politely rate it "average", Days Inn type. Actually, I can hardly recall any worse hotel I've been in.

Great hotel to stay at if you do not want to hire a car as there is a complimentary coach from the hotel to disney, seaworld, and universal and back various times during the day. I-Ride trolley stop right outside the hotel too with cheap fares. Room clean and tidy, air conditioning can be freezing if turned up fully which is nice when you have been outside in the heat. Hurricane for 3 days during holiday but rep kept us up to date over the telephone and the pool bar stayed open as long as possible. Great holiday and hotel, returning this year to same hotel.
