| Do NOT do the timeshare presentation!! |
| We have stayed here a number of times and have loved it. This time we did their timeshare presentation after being offered $100. At first we hesitated to sign up because we had done it there about 5 years ago and were treated badly when we didn't buy. We were assured it was a whole new crew and that would never happen. Well, guess what? This time was even worse. After we didn't buy we were left waiting for 15 minutes to be signed out for our "gift". Then our salesperson came back and dropped a Customer Service Rep (CSR) at our table to tell us that we "weren't qualified" for the gift. The salesperson didn't write down my income in addition to my husband's, so it looked like we were just under the income qualification when in fact we are nearly double their income qualification. The CSR then said we obviously qualified, went to explain to their sales manager, and came back and sat with us. A young gentleman came over and asked if we met the income qualification, and we again explained yes. Then another salesperson named Marisol Rosa came over. She stood there with her hand on her hip and said, "Look, if I took my time to give you a presentation, what were the chances you'd buy today?" I said, "None whatsoever." She looked at the CSR and said, "Well, we're not doing it then." I stated that we had come to the presentation because of the incentive, that if people WANTED to go to these things they wouldn't have to offer incentives, and that they can't deny us of it because we didn't buy. The CSR took us downstairs to get us the gift cards and get us out of there because she knew we were qualified no matter what the salespeople were saying, and she had us sign a statement to attest to our income. She also told us that when she had gone to explain things to the sales manager, she was told to let us sit there for a while, but that she didn't feel right about that. I went back upstairs afterward to ask the sales receptionist for some of the names of the people we had dealt with (so I could write a letter of complaint), and our original salesperson showed up again. She and I got into a heated discussion about how we had been treated, and as I was writting down the info I wanted, Marisol walked past me and said, "Fastest hundred dollars YOU ever earned." What a bad feeling this gave us about this resort after we had stayed there a number of times and enjoyed ourselves. We'll most likely go elsewhere from now on. |
