Top Local Tips for Naples
Be aware of parking meters On our trip to Naples we had a bad experience with parking tickets. We parked close to the beach for close to two hours, and used all our quarters (1.75 USD) to pay for the parking. On the return to our car, however, we found a parking ticket, as we were four (4) minutes late. My husband tried to talk to the guy giving us the ticket, explaining that we were from out-of-town (even out-of-States) but only got the standard reply ("I'm just doing my job....."). As we don't have any checks, we went to the City hall to pay the fine (22 USD) and were very rudely treated. My husband tried to put up an argument asking for the fairness of getting a fine when we were only four minutes late, and the official at Naples City Hall only confirmed that it was indeed hard, but nothing else. No excuse, no understanding of the fact that we were not american, nothing. He even said that he'd love to go to Sweden, when my husband said that in Sweden you at least get a five-minute respite on your parking.
rainy a lot - had to plan around the weather I would definately reccomend not going to Florida in the middle of the summer. Very hot and rainy, would be much better during the other seasons = like winter
Dinning out So many restaurants to chose from. Many down town very pricy. Check with locals for value sites.
