Top Local Tips for Naples

early dining next door at the Boat house THe waterfront Boat House restaurant next to the Cove Inn has a great early dining menu that offers many selections off their dinner menu at highly reduced prices.

An airboat ride in the Everglades - fun at any age! A half-day trip to Everglades City (really a tiny town) about 45 minutes south of Naples is a unique adventure for nature lovers of any age. (The guides are very accommodating to senior citizens and disabled individuals -- don't pass it up!) Several small family-owned guides offer air boat rides into the bayou-like waterways where you may spot alligators or other wildlife. We saw two alligators on our trip (not guaranteed in mid-March), but also enjoyed the "lore" communicated by our Everglades born and raised guide. Small (6-9 passenger) boats make the experience intimate and fun. We chose our tour online and were able to download a $10 discount coupon as well. After our ride we had an early al fresco dinner at the waterfront restaurant in town. Can't remember the name, but it's the largest dining establishment right in the heart of town. Has a large deck where we had an excellent meal and enjoyed watching hawks flying over the lagoon.

Snok Inn, Marco Island If you visit Naples be sure to take the twenty minute drive to Marco Island and visit the Snook Inn. Here you will have fabulous seafood while you watch the dolphins and the pelicans in the bay. There is live music and it is a real fun place to go - well worth a visit.
