What's with the noise?

What is with the noise... getting woken up at 7am on vacation is not my idea of vacation. Otherwise the hotel is great and beautifully located on the beach in the heart of south beach.

Before arriving in Miami we looked over some of the reviews and needless to say were a bit worried by what we read. Fortunately after arriving we did not agree with a lot of the negative ones. We found the hotel to be at a good location since we were right at the beach. The hotel could use a little TLC since it is a nice building that just needs a little help with the internal cosmetics but it was kept clean. We were very comfortable though and saw it's potential especially the beautiful etched glass mirror in the bar that was not open. The pool was located conveniently behind the hotel and just across the boardwalk from the awesome beach. If you are used to staying in a 5 star hotel than you might want to shell out more money and stay elsewhere but if you just want a comfortable place to stay that is conveniently located than this is the place for you.

Stay South LOOK AT YOUR CHECKS! In most places, the tip was ALREADY INCLUDED. If you're looking for night life, and it seems like you are just a few blocks north of everything, even one mile can be a pain in the butt. Stay real close walking distance. More goes on around you that way also. As for restaurants, Lincoln Avenue was a really nice closed street area. Cafeteria, despite it's claims, is NOT 24/7 when we were there. We found this out the hard way. Excellent wings. Went back for more. Closed. End result? Crying girlfriend. Yeah, we're from Jersey. Ocean's 10 on Ocean Avenue was great at night. Live entertainment, excellent service. Jerry's Famous Deli = good burgers, bad breakfast. Get ready to pay heavy cover charges everywhere, and not be able to even see what's inside before you pay. Bring cash. No working ATMs in this city. Unreal. Also, topless beaches in the US - who knew? Not all girls but very common. Spanish everywhere but a non-issue. Miami is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your trip

For lunch and dinner... eat on Collins or Washington and save Ocean for a special occassion - Ocean's like, twice the price and there are PLENTY of nice places one street back...! There's a fantastic Greek place on 21st (ish!)and Collins, and a great little burrito place on 10th or 11th between Ocean and Collins - cheap and YUMMY... :)

Do not stay at this Traymore Hotel I have many friends that go to Miami's South Beach. Told them as I tell you, spend the extra money to stay at a decent hotel with adequate security. This hotel is close to the ocean however it is very rundown and old. They have no security and people were coming and going as they pleased. Something bad is bound to happen here without proper security which Innkeepers are expected have. Our room was broken into and nothing has been done about it. No one even return phone calls or my letters. It is upsetting to know that they can operate and stay in business.
