Top Local Tips for Miami Beach

Plan carefully when getting around and to Miami If you haven't been here before, you might be taken by surprise by the mere size of the city and how hard it is to get around. I took to hear the lovely travel brochures that suggested the airport was "a mere 17 miles" from my first hotel location. It was $60 in a taxi worth of 17 miles, to the Sunny Isles area. To get to South Beach from Sunny Isles would have been another $42, but I chose to thwart this highway robbery with a public bus ride--that took exactly one hour from south to north--South Beach to Sunny Isles.

Dining VERY expansive A meal at a nice restaurant for 2 was about 70 dollars

don't waste money on rental car & parking don't bother wasting money on a rental car unless you plan on travelling far. everything you need to get to is a small fare cab ride away. AND you don;t have to pay for parking that way! my boyfriend and i went down in october2006 and wound up leaving the stupid car in a parking garage for 4 days. waste of money!!
