Very disappointed. We were looking for a minimum cleanness and care, mainly for a Hotel owned by Switzerland people who has a special good reputation for maintenance and cleanness.
Just the opposite. Terrible

On a budget for SoBe? This is the perfect place

Well, we just returned from staying 3 nights at this hotel. We were on a budget so we shouldn't have expected much more. I really believe this 'budgetel' hotel is perfect if all you're looking for is a place to lay your head. That was our intention but since it rained everyday that we were there, we ended up in the room more than we planned.

The rooms are small, clean and comfortable. The perfect description of the rooms, well it reminded us of a dormitory room. I didn't like that there was not a fan ventilation in the 'small' bathroom, so you can't take a shower without feeling like you're about to suffocate. The window A/C is noisy, especially since you can't turn the TV volume pass a set range. We couldn't sleep well because the room above us was soooo noisy. It seems like they just paced the floor over and over, but the rooms are so small we couldn't understand where/why they were walking so much. It must have been a Suite room above us in order for them to be walking so much. This is when the noisy A/C was helpful, it muffled some of the walking noise. The staff was great as well. The location is perfect too, walking distance to the beach, Ocean Dr. and to most of the happenings. Also it was in a nice quiet location. They have 'limited' number of parking spaces available for $10 per night. Which we were able to get one of the spots in the back of the building. The only problem with that was when we came in after midnight we had to walk through the alley and come in the front entrance. Since it was all ladies, we didn't like that.

So if you're on a budget and want to stay in South Beach, this would be a perfect place!

After looking at all the reviews on the other hotels in the area I was afraid I would never find a hotel that was affordable and clean to stay in. That is until I read the reviews for the Hotel Atlantica. I stayed at the Atlantica Hotel & Suites for 6 nights from 1/6-1/12 and had a great experience!!! I found my hotel room to be very clean and I loved the shower in the bathroom. The hotel was nice and quite even though it was fully booked the whole time we were there. They even have a volume maximum on the TV so that you don't disturb anyone. Our housekeeper was very attentive and the front desk staff was eager and willing to assist us with any questions we had regarding the area. The best part about the hotels location is that we were 2 minutes walking distance from the beautiful beach:-)) There is also a excellent restuarant that has everything you could think of one block up from the hotel on 4th street/Collins Ave called the Big Pink which I highly recommend. Try the sweet potato frys. Also for you coffee lovers there is a Starbucks Coffee on Ocean Drive which is on the same block as the beach minutes from the hotel. If are looking to work out while you are in Miami there is a CRUNCH gym on Washington/12th Ave about 9 blocks from the hotel. It is one of the best gyms I have been to ...but beware of the cost ahead of time. You have to pay $21 per day to work out as a guest or you can buy a guest pass for $80 for the week. Also there is a path to run/walk on by the beach. I am very glad that I chose this hotel and will plan on staying there again the next time I am in Miami. Great vacation, great place to stay

We (man+woman of 35 years, baby 18 months) stayed in this exceptional place for about one week in November 2004. We loved the quiet surroundings, the closeness to the beach, to Ocean Drive, to Starbucks and to a number of good restaurants. The rooms are clean and with 2 rooms in the "suite", the baby was able to sleep in her own room. We had a fridge and a sink that made life with a baby a lot easier. Breakfast was always good, of course only continental. But you could sit outside and enjoy the mornings.
We will certainly come again - the owners really believe in good service and hospitality - although the hotel cannot (and does not want to) compete with the 4 or 5 star hotels, the hotel really is an excellent deal for the money and we fully recommend it.

I stayed here on Dec 3-6 and enjoyed my time in this small, humbled hotel. The strong advantages are its low-rate and its strategic, yet (surpisingly) quite location. You do not even need a car because the hotel is just 2 blocks away from the shopping walks and the beaches. The staffs were friendly and helping, the continental breakfast was good. Do not expect a fancy, luxurious hotel, though; this is not like that. Instead, this is for low-profile vacationers who want to enjoy and experience south beach like it is. I would definitely come back.

helpful staff, small but clean rooms with everything you need, close to beach, clubs, shops and restaurants, defenitely all you need! And all that for a surprisingly low price! We enjoyed our four days at the Hotel Atlantica and will defenitely come back! Many Thanks to Matt and his wife!

Just returned from a 4 night stay.......very nice economy hotel....nothing fancy but overall definitely worth every penny. even though we didn't mind at all.....the property has a house cat that roams around at free will......just thought some might want to know if you're allergic or do not like cats. Will stay here again in future.

this Hotel is a great place to stay! Walking distance to the beach and close to shopping and night life! Very friendly staff! Rooms are clean.

Affordable, quiet, and well-maintained

A great, affordable hotel, walking distance from South Beach fun and activities. Staff was friendly and accomodating, the suite was large and in great condition, and the hotel was quiet. It's not super-luxurious, but if you're looking for a clean and well-maintained hotel in a good location for a great price, this is it. We definitely will return.

My Friends and I stayed here here Oct 7-12 2004. The rooms were small but very clean.Its not far from the beach and for the price it was better than i expected.If you are looking for a good rate and somewhere quiet and clean. This is the place to stay..

Arriving in South Beach, which is known as a "hip
place" with many expensive boutique hotels, we did not expect to find a good value.
But in Atlantica Hotel & Suites we found an un-
expected great value with a warm family touch.
The rooms are simple but very clean and have all
the amenities you would need. Our stay was most pleasant and the staff made sure we enjoyed our time being there. Very helpful, always wearing a smile. We will highly recommend Atlantica Hotel & Suites to every one we know.

Top Local Tips for Miami Beach

get a parking spot... Your best bet is to ask is the hotel has access to a parking lot or something. they should be able to accommodate your needs for a reasonable fee. otherwise, it's hours of driving around especially on weekend nights. the meters are working EVERY day from 9am to midnight and it will cost you a little fortune. if you're lazy or have a parking spot, you shoud keep it for the entire day until you get a $18 tickets and change the morning after!

south beach local bus there is a bus that runs a loop over south beach/miami beach area that cost 25c. very easy and convinient way to get places when you don't feel like walking. http://www.miamibeach411.com/trans_electrowave.html
