I just booked two suites for myself and 11 other people for June. I am a member of Marriott Rewards and I think they are a fine Brand. So far as I made my inquiries and request through the hotel's manager they seemed very helpful and accommodating. I will let you all know what happened when I get there. Hopefully it will be pleasant. And perhaps our should've locked your doors. I am from Brooklyn and everyone knows YOU ALWAYS LOCK YOUR DOORS IN A HOTEL. PATIO DOORS AS WELL!

My room 421 and room 420 were robbed while we were sleeping. Access was gained through the balcony sliding doors which are accessible from a roof area. Hotel staff were not very helpful.

Historical Traveller Reviews of Best Western Atlantic Beach Resort Hotel

t classify as resort, but would still recommend

from sttmcdinmo
We were fortunate enough to find a room here for our last night in Florida, after spending the night from **** at another closeby 'resort'. (See other review).
Driving by this hotel, decided to take a chance, and were glad we did. We booked their last available room, which was partial ocean view. Check-in was efficient, even though they were busy - slow elevators, but no big deal - up to room and it was carpeted, nice, clean and smelled great. 2 comfortable double beds were a great change. Concierge recommended several places to go, and we opted for Lincoln Road and were very pleased with it.
The beach here was great, with the boardwalk. Loved it... We really liked the location, as this hotel is on sits at the intersection of A1A and I-195. Had an early morning flight out of Miami, and just took 195 straight to the airport -- about 15 minutes.
It was definitely a nice change from the previous night. We'd definitely come back here again!

Hotel terribly managed. Check-in. Not a long queue at all but still took ages. The guy at the front desk was totally unprofessional. He said he was new but still that's not an excuse: he didn't know anything about the system and had to ask for help all the time and needed the credit card 3 (!) times because he kept making errors. It's not the guys fault but the hotel should train their staff. Service overall very poor. Staff with I-dont-care attitude. 2 elevators broken down so 10-floor hotel had to be catered by one elevator. Next day still only 2 in service. Valet parking was efficient (and it better be cause im not sure if there are any other parking options nearby). Rooms very plain, bathroom small (no surfaces so hard to get organised.) VERY bad isolation: you can actually hear what people 2 rooms further are saying. If you have to stay at this hotel try to get an oceanside room. Pool area totally boring (but its miami beach so you cant expect gardens). Breakfast was nothing special, fruit was clearly not fresh. Did not try lunch or dinner. At checkout they charge you $2 a night per room for the safe (even if you didnt use it). It was was printed somewhere on the checkin form in font size 6 and was never mentioned so you feel they're trying to rip you off. I was lucky enough to have to be here for only 2 nights but imagine you book your family for a 2 week stay this adds up. Anyway I didn't pay it so I'm wondering if they're gonna charge the credit card. It might be that I'm not used to two-star hotels but I'm sure you can do better when planning to stay in Miami Beach.

Worst Hotel Ever!!!

from AGDM
This was definitely the MOST DISGUSTING hotel I’ve EVER stayed at! I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. Don’t stay there if you can help it, despite of the low rates!! Atrocious customer service, nauseatingly dirty rooms and pool area, filthy towels and sheets, loud/rude cleaning personnel, horrible valet service, nasty food, only one elevator working. Need I say more?! This hotel needs to be shut down!! Don’t spoil your vacation or business trip – STAY AWAY!!!

The worst hotel on the planet

from JDemar
The Hotel valet's drink on the job, the manager saw it (Allen Comer) and did nothing about it, the valet also got me 2 parking tickets because they were to lazy to walk back from the garage. The hotel refuses to pay the tickets and I have been going through corporate but in the meantime I have paid them myself. The staff is beyond rude, it should be a new category. No hot water, bad food, terrible rooms (they smelled), elevators were broken, but worse of all was the
rudness by the stafe; most notably the management. Never under any circumstances stay at this hotel.

We booked a week at the Courtyard by Marriott. Shortly thereafter, my Mom decided she wanted to come along, but wanted a cheaper option. Since this hotel is just one building away and was about $60 a night cheaper, she chose here. I warned her about the mixed reviews, but you cant tell Moms anything! :)

When we pulled up to the building we noticed there were beer and water bottles littering the sidewalk and the landscaping in front of the hotel. The crowd leaving was not appealing and the valet seemed to be way overwhelmed. My Mom was heading out and I asked my husband to go in with her to make sure the place was ok. My young daughter decided she needed to go to the bathroom (snoop) too. So they went in and I waited outside in our car. 10 minutes later they emerged and my husband said "It's a dump...let's call Expedia."

First of all, the computer system was down, at check in time, so there was mass chaos. They could not even confirm my mothers reservation. The lobby was filthy and although you are not supposed to smoke, there were people doing so and using the FLOOR as an ashtray. My mother went to take my daughter to the bathroom, she said the stench could knock you over from 20 ft away and it was too dirty to use. My husband decided to check the Men's lobby bathroom and there was urine and feces on the floor. That's when they said "ENOUGH."

On a side note, her cancellation policy was "no refund as of 12:00 AM day of check in." We talked to the front desk about waiving this, but they couldn't even see if she had a reservation due to the computers being down. We called Expedia and the woman we spoke to was LESS than helpful. She called the property, which only answered on her 2nd attempt, and she was told that "there was no manager on staff today" and therefore nothing could be done. She was also very rude about it. Now, this was a busy Sunday in June - there is NO manager in the building? This is the type of hotel it is. Well, my husband and I went back to the hotel and found out that this is independently owned and not owned by Best Western. With some persuasion, we got the front desk to call the owner at home. After my husband spoke with him, he agreed to offer a full refund to my mother and he did live up to his word. For that I am grateful, but I can not recommend this hotel.

Service was terrible

from noaatravel
The staff was rude and unhelpful. It was a shame because it is a great location.

Very Bad Experience

from mrimiami
The hotel only had one elevator that was operating.
The check in time was 3. Did not get a room untill 5 pm.
Had many family members trying to stay on the same floor (five rooms total). They had us scattered all over the hotel. Service overall was very poor. Only one luggage cart and nobody cared about helping out. Front desk personell had bad attitude and refused to help arrange rooms. Double booked a room and gave it to other guests. Walked in on with same key issued. Continental breakfast was not offered as described. Had to use service elevators to get around. Pool area very well unkept and unsafe.

Great room (if you can take the service flaws)

from NickM1
Having tried many South Beach hotels and found them either full or we didn't like the room, we decided to use a magazine coupon for the BW Atlantic Beach.
Our room was excellent, pleasantly furnished with very large comfortable bed - it seems the hotel has been recently refurbished - and it shows.
Also the cost for our 2 nights totalled $216 including tax which we thought was very good value.
We also saved on parking as there are a number of free spaces on streets adjacent to the hotel leading to the beach.
Although you are on 41St there are frequent buses which you can catch close by to the South Beach hotspots.
We found the staff acceptable but as others have mentioned welcoming charm is not their forte.
Our main grumble was with the bill - we found that a charge of $16 had been made for the In-room movie which we had not watched. It seems that when you check through the list of channels if you choose the In-room movie (even for 1 second) it triggers the charge.
However, the staff have records of which film and for how long it was watched and after our protests the $16 was removed.

A nice dump--or--You get what you pay for

from howlen
First the good news--an oceanfront hotel with affordable rates--$97 per night with a AAA discount.

Now the less than good news--this hotel had a lot of problems.
1. T.V went out after watching for 10 minutes. Very kind engineer couldn't fix it, and promised it would be fixed the next day. We left early the next morning, and I mentioned to the manager at the front desk that it needs attention. He agreed, smiled, and said it would be taken care of before long. That night, we returned late to the hotel. Guess what--T.V had still not been fixed. I called the front desk, and asked to be changed to another room, or be compensated. The clerk was reluctant to do either, but I persisted, and our room was changed.

2. The coffee shop is a bit odd. There is complimentary coffee, but with a catch--no lids are available to cover the paper cups, and prevent a spill. The cashier added that they never gave out lids. ( I almost told her that you could a 100 lids at Costco for a few bucks)

3. The housekeeper refused to give me extra shower towels. They have a policy of 2 towels to a room, I guess. I explained we were three in our party, but to no avail. Also, both rooms we stayed in, had some unknown gunk left on the bathroom doors

4. Checkout was an ordeal. The desk clerk, with dyed red hair and matching dyded red eyebrows, did not believe the above mentioned t.v fiasco, and was ready to charge me for the pay per view movie that my family watched for 10 minutes, prior to the t.v's ceasing to function. So, she had to go to the back room and get a printout to refund my $9. Likewise, she had to obtain a parking log to prove that I didnot park at the hotel on a particular night. The manager was particularly proud that she followed procedure. I was annoyed she wasn't authorized to trust me, or follow her instincts.

Atrocious Service and Staff

from Oldietravellers
After a long transatlantic flight we had to to queue for about an hour and a half just to register. We had checked with central reservations from London before we left that our two rooms were reserved but at the desk the clerk was rude and obstructive and said they did not have our reservation.
She then mysteriously found our reservation but for one room only and proceeded to check us in for one room only despite our protestations. We were very desperate by this time and refused to move without our second room. She grudgingly gave in but we did not dare ask for the sea view which we had booked.
The rooms were OK but we decided to try another hotel for later in our holiday.
This hotel's staff are a disgrace. We have lost faith in American holidays and will probably never now return. The hotel was poor value and ill equipped with a tiny pool and very little comfort in the pool area. Not a nice place to relax.
We have been in the travel industry for many years and this rates as one of our worst experiences.

Top Local Tips for Miami Beach

Getting around is quite expensive... I would definitely recommend renting a car for the time that you will be there. You can rent cars for relatively cheap, but taxis in Miami are quite expensive. We took a cab from Collins Ave on the beach to Dolphin mall and it cost us $65 dollars one way. Other shorter cab rides to downtown, south beach shops and other attractions are a little less expensive but the 10-15 dollar rides also add up. Also to and from the Miami International Airport is about 35-40 dollars. The public bus is only $1.50 a ride, not bad but it would take some research in finding routes and sometimes a 15 drive turns into an hour long bus ride.

good eats Near the hotel on Arthur Godfrey Rd is Arnie and Richie's deli- a Jewish deli. Delicious and a peek into the varied local scene

Taxis When you get picked up at the airport make sure that in the Taxis it does not read Max amount for your fare......................because you can have a cheaper fare, because of the max you will be paying more.
