s way to being a very good hotel?

from dylan4005
A little frustrating, cause The Bentley Beach has the potential to be a great experience. First, don't confuse it with the older, now eroding Bentley Hotel. And know what you're getting up front. The rooms are wonderful; nicely decorated. The location is convenient; it's in a more serene part of South Beach. The beach and beach access is it's best asset. But, right now, there are currently NO hotel restaurants and NO room service. The pool is disappointing -- small and shady. Indeed, ammenities are few. The service is sluggish. Our travel agent needed to clear up an unexpected high rate charge. In short, give it 3 1/2 stars.

Nice hotel

We stayed at this hotel during Christmas. The hotel is very nice. Right on the beach and next to Niki beach which was very nice. We had the junior suite which was a nice size. The views from the room were excellent. The bathroom was very nice. It is not the greatest location if you want to be close to the action. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the happening area of Ocean drive. The walk back to the hotel at night was a little too quiet for me...although we went during Christmas. There are a few great restaurants only 1-2 minute walk away. The pool is okay, nothing spectacular. Overall, if you want to be a little away from all the commotion and want to stay at an elegant hotel it is a good option.

s best kept secret!

We just came back from staying a weekend at the Bentley Beach hotel, and we were very impressed. First of all let me just say that if anyone can give this place a bad review, they must be competely delusional. I booked it not expecting much because I got a pretty good deal and had seen some mixed reviews. The room was the best part about the hotel. It was HUGE and very nice. They all have flat-screen plasma tvs, sprawling balconies, oversized bathrooms with glass showers and massage showerheads. Not only that, but the rooms have a fully-functional kitchen with microwave and everything. To add to the experience, the service was excellent. I called the front desk for wireless internet, and they brought me up a cord hookup for internet without even asking in about 2 minutes. They fulfilled all our requests, and always kept our room stocked with towels. I will definately be coming back here again!

We have just returned from a fabulous long weekend at the BBH and thought it was superb and, although not inexpensive, a great value considering the level of luxury. We visit South Beach every year or so to wine and dine some of my husband's clients and have fun ourselves, and in the past have stayed at the Delano and the Raleigh, both of which were full for this weekend so we had to find a new place. After reading a lot of reviews (thanks Trip Advisor) we settled on the Bentley Beach and got a very good rate through Expedia --$250 weekdays and $300 weekends for a Jr. suite, the standard room.

What a terrific place! The lobby is intimate and nice with gorgeous marble floors, large orchid arrangements, and art made from local flora. The marble hallways and common areas are beautiful and immaculate, and decorated in an understated European style, very elegant.

The staff was warm and charming and provided us every service including a last minute limo to pick us up at the airport in Lauderdale (no rental cars due to the hurricane), a rental car the next day because we neeeded it (which was always brought around promptly when we asked), cabs, and a 3pm. late cheeckout (free of charge). We were still on the beach at 2 pm. our last day! The attitude that can run a little thick in Sobe was nowhere to be found at this hotel.

The spotless 5th floor room was beautiful, polished marble floors, expansive marble bath with all the amenities, lush, rich fabrics for the window treatments and upholstry, european antique/regency style furniture including a large desk, table and chairs, custom closets with built-ins, and a great kitchenette with a large refrigerater, microwave that also bakes, and all the accoutements one would expect. (Get pizza from NY Pizza Kitchen and bake it in the microwave after your evening out!) We had a large deck with a partial ocean view and a view of the lovely 4th floor patio containing the lighted fountain, hot and cold tubs, and view across to Fisher Island. The room was very quiet and the bed superb--all the things one would expect at a small luxury hotel.

The location in the Sofi(south of Fifth) district is the best in south beach, as the more populated sections are getting a little too young and rowdy for us, we're in our early forties. Sofi boasts more space, higher-end development, and a great section of beach which is positively idyllic down toward the Jetty that marks the end of South beach. Lots of seashells and few buildings. At nightfall it's really cool to jog on the beach as the brightly lit cruise ships steam out to sea -- and, it's safe to do so, which is more than you can say for a lot of beaches round the world.

The hottest restaurants are very close. Nemo-one block away, and Escopazzo, on Washington, were both excellent. Prime 121 is the hottest in town and is across the street, the concierge can probably get a reservation. Tavern Opa is also across the street and is not so gormet but very delicious Greek food, with belly dancers and dancing on the tables. We saw Johnny Damon of the Red Sox there. Nikki Beach is next door and has a great beach club during the day and very lively nightclub at night.

I don't see how anyone could be treated better or have more fun than we did this weekend at the Bentley Beach--can't wait to go back to our new favorite place!

A Jewel on Ocean Drive

Our stay at the Bentley beach was short. We spent our wedding night there and then flew off to our Honeymoon. We could not be any happier with our choice. The hotel is beautiful. It has a great location, the rooms are amazing.Instead of getting a small room what you will get is a condo with all the amenities you can ask for. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. I recommend this hotel to both families and singles looking for a place to have fun and relax in this beatiful city.

Beautiful but Needs to get it together!

My girlfriends and I have just returned from a bachelorette weekend at the Bentley Beach Hotel. We had booked a 1 BR suite and was told that having a 4th person would be an extra $50 per night. The four of us arrived very early around 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning and were able to check in at that time. We were given a strange 1 BR suite. WHen you walk in there is a long big kitchen/dining area and then at the end of it, there was the bedroom with a small sofa. Not the suite we were expecting to see based on the pictures from the website...where was the living room? THe bathroom was very very nice. It was tight but we could deal with it. THere was a huge terrace that wrapped around to the outside hallway which anyone walking by can gain access to. We didn't feel very safe and had to make sure that our terrace door was locked at all times. We spent the day at the pool and it was very nice because we had it all to ourselves most of the time. The guy at the pool set up our lounge chairs and we were provided with complimentary small bottles of water which was a nice touch. The beach was very nice as well...wasn't crowded at all.

We had inquired at the front desk earlier about getting a rollaway bed. THey said it was a $50 deposit that we don't get back!!! How and why is this called a deposit?? At the end of the evening, we were getting ready for bed. So we decided to deal with two of us sharing the sofabed. THe turn down service did not open the sofabed for us. We decided to do this ourselves and were shocked to see that the bed opened to a twin! We called to ask for a rollaway bed and was told that they don't have any. How is this possible when they wanted $50 for one earlier?? We called and complained and finally they found a rollaway bed. This rollaway took up the entire kitchen area. Can you believe that one of us had to sleep in the kitchen?? How ridiculous is that? Sergio the cutie night manager came up and calmed us down. He was very very nice and apologetic and offered to have our room changed. It was late and we decided to stay in that room until the next morning. Of course we refused to pay the extra $50 for that night.

THe new suite was the one that we had originally thought that we were going to get. Beautiful huge suite with a nice bedroom, Living Room, small kitchen and dining area. Just the way it looked on the website. From then on, our stay was very nice. The bathrooms in both rooms were very very nice. THis hotel is not lacking in the decor category.

We had two other friends staying at what they call a junior suite. What a ripoff! The room was very small and my guess is that the tiny refrigerator justified them in calling it a junior suite. They had a all in one bathtub/shower stall. They had to climb into the tub to take a shower...very dangerous. Definitely not worth the price.

All in all the hotel is very beautiful but really needs help in the service department. Housekeeping as far as towels, always came very quickly. We had asked for extra towels a few times and they came right away. They just need to get their act together.

Nothing small about the Bentley

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Bentley Hotel in Miami Beach is part of the Preferred Small Hotels, but there is nothing small about the Bentley. The rooms (most are suites) are spacious and elegantly decorated and the bathrooms are fantastic. How often do you get a shower and a tub? If you don't have both in your suite you will have a stall shower so you don't have to step into a tub. Even if you get a room with a city view you will still see some water, because you are at the end of Ocean Drive. Lying in bed you feel as if you are on a ship with the ocean at eye level. Oh how relaxing. You don't feel as if you are in a hotel, but visiting a best friend's apartment or even your own second home. There is such a good feeling when you enter the lovely lobby and are escorted to your room. Everything is luxurious and tasteful. You feel as if you are in Europe, except for the wonderful beach. You are just a short walk to some of the best restaurants and shopping on Collins at Fifth and Sixth Streets (Banana Republic, Sephora, Urban Outfitters, AX, and more.) This short getaway was so relaxing we can't wait to do it again very soon. The entire staff was very courteous and couldn't be more helpful.

Great Time @ Bentley Beach

from Raign04
I was there four nights over Memorial Day weekend, and though the hotel was extremely busy, we received excellent service. The rooms were gorgeous! There was a really nice area on the forth floor between the two towers with a hot tub and fountain. This hotel is in the heart of the action, yet far enough from the noise/crowd.

Absolutely loved it

from A TripAdvisor Member
A few of my co-worker took a quick get-away trip and had a blast. Our room was a suite. The kitchen was awesome with a stainless steel refrigerator well-stocked with everything imaginable. The marble shower was so great! The concierge was very helpful and every staff member was very helpful and polite. Housekeeping was pretty good too. The room was beautiful.

The beach chairs were pretty comfy too. The best part was seeing Jamie Fox there...he was staying there as well.

We had a great relaxing time. I definitely want to stay there again.

t stay at the Bentley Beach Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
Wow, this hotel was a disappointment! My husband and I took a 4 day trip without our kids hoping to get rest and relaxation but it did not happen at this hotel. It has been open for 6 months and they have alot to learn.
The hotel doors to every room slam shut and are very noisy being that the floors throughout the hotel are all marble and stone. The first night of our stay we were up all night because the room 2 doors down from ours was having a party. They were slamming doors, playing music, and laughing until 6 a.m.. The next day the hotel agreed to move us from our studio to a one bedroom. Unfortunately the new room faced a club next door and the following 2 nights we had to listen to loud music. Sunday it lasted until 5 a.m. the next morning.
Aside from noise, the hotel is not providing service that you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Maid service it lacking. Our bed was not made nicely. Turn down service the first night came by at 5 o'clock while we were getting ready to go out. The second night they just offered us fresh towels. We were missing a remote for the sound system in the room, so we were without music. We had to ask 3 times before one was brought to our room. The last day of our stay I headed to the beach early while my husband went for a run. I went down to get a beach chair and the beach boy made me wait until he finished setting all of the chairs out, about 12. This is not the service I find exceptable.
The grounds were average, nothing was top notch. The room rate posted in our one bedroom suite was $1255/ night and $430 for the studio. We luckily didn't pay these rates. I can't imagine this hotel will stay in business with rates like these and poor service.

The Miami International Boat Show If your going to the Miami International Boat show, book a room at the Hilton Bentley Beach Hotel. The staff is amazing and the stay was as well!

breakfast Visit the porch for breakfast. Great breakfast menu. Breakfast offered all day.

Gotta Try It The restaurant that was recommended to us by the front desk was Big Pink. It was great! Only a block or so walk from the hotel. Definitely worth it.
