| Advice to anyone planning on staying here: DON'T!
This hotel was booked for me as part of a business trip. Unfortunately, although the hotel web site claims that the place has been extensively renovated, I can't see much change from the reviews already posted. Perhaps I ended up stuck in one of the rooms which hadn't been renovated. The carpets were so tacky, I kept my shoes on and, as I was carrying a pressure relieving mattress (for the patient I had transferred to the US), I slept on that rather than the beds. Certainly, the pillow cases didn't look like they'd been changed - or perhaps they just don't believe in ironing there. The smell of the room was something, in nearly 30 years as a nurse, I have never encountered before. Thank God for Impulse Body Spray - it functions very well as a room deodoriser!
Check-in took nearly an hour and a half because the hotel claimed not to have received a fax from the booking agent but at least they had a room. A poor gentleman who arrived as I checked out suffered a similar problem but ended up with no room at all. He doesn't know how lucky he was!
As I was only in Miami for a day and half, it wasn't worth switching hotels, especially as payment had been made in advance but, had my stay been longer I would have borne the cost and moved.
