Not Much Change
Advice to anyone planning on staying here: DON'T!
This hotel was booked for me as part of a business trip. Unfortunately, although the hotel web site claims that the place has been extensively renovated, I can't see much change from the reviews already posted. Perhaps I ended up stuck in one of the rooms which hadn't been renovated. The carpets were so tacky, I kept my shoes on and, as I was carrying a pressure relieving mattress (for the patient I had transferred to the US), I slept on that rather than the beds. Certainly, the pillow cases didn't look like they'd been changed - or perhaps they just don't believe in ironing there. The smell of the room was something, in nearly 30 years as a nurse, I have never encountered before. Thank God for Impulse Body Spray - it functions very well as a room deodoriser!
Check-in took nearly an hour and a half because the hotel claimed not to have received a fax from the booking agent but at least they had a room. A poor gentleman who...Read more

Despicable, Disgusting Unbelievable
I'm writing as I feel I owe it to other people who may be considering staying in this 'hell hole'. I travelled as part of a family of 8, when we stayed there in November '05 as it was close to Miami Port. We arrived around midnight, and the sight of the hotel gave an instant bad impression. (even the taxi driver who took us from the airport laughed nervously when we mentioned where we were staying). The reception was very basic, but we checked in somewhat apprehensively. We were directed to the 3rd floor, passing some very unsavoury characters lingering around outside. The lifts didn't work, the place was very dark and felt 'un-safe'. The worse was to come. We opened the door to our room and you could smell a very pungent sweaty smell. After opening the door, I looked a few doors up where my parents room was only to see my mum stagger from the room throwing up because of the absolutely horrific smell. They had to come to our room to share. Upon entering the room there were sp...Read more

The worst hotel EVER!!!!
My boyfriend and I booked this hotel because we were going on a Carnival cruise and it offered free shuttle service to the pier. First of all...we waited over three hours to try to get on a shuttle and finally just gave up when the line didn't even look like it had moved. We found another couple going to the pier and just shared a cab with them. Much better choice. Now the room....this was dirtiest, most disgusting place I have ever seen. There were stains everywhere!! The box spring looked like it had blood stains on it and the comforter had who knows what on it. The towels had yellow stains and pubic hair all over them. I can't even explain the horrible stench in the room. You didn't even want to touch anything, let alone lay in the bed. They had put a flat sheet over the mattress and when we slept this would come off and I was laying on the mattress that looked like it had blood on it too. The shower made such a horrible noise that I had to hold my ears to try and rinse o...Read more

Filthy!
My husband and I were highly disappointed in this hotel. We stayed there because it was economical and it had shuttle service to the Port of Miami. We stayed in Room 505 and it was nothing less than filthy. The room smelled, and all we had was a creaky double bed (only one). When I took a shower the next morning, I noticed I had black footprints (which were from my feet - mind you, I was not barefoot until I stepped in to the hotel room). After my husband had taken a shower, after walking around for about 10 minutes, he looked at the bottom of his feet and they were black. I paid $78.00 to stay in this pig sty. It certainly was not worth $78.00.

HORRIBLE!
This hotel was horrible. We made our reservations through hotels.com and we had a conformation number. When we tried to check in they lost our reservation and they wouldn't do anything to help us out. There was no manager on duty. We spent 2 hours of our first vacation day on the phone trying to solve the problem. The desk clerk was very rude and made us call hotels.com and a hotline for days inn. Then when we finally got the room it was dirty. I will never stay there again or any other days inn for that matter!
