Overpriced
The Palms was nice, but as the other reviewer noted, there were hidden charges. Breakfast buffet was $19 per person and drinks were $10 each.(we went to a liquor store and ate breakfast at one of the many cafes on Ocean Blvd.) One elevator was not working and with seminar attendees, it made waiting for the elevator an eternity. Staff were all pleasant, but again, I think $450-$500 a night is too pricey for what you get.

Hidden Charges
We booked a room at the Palms via Orbitz for what we thought was a fair rate. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were informed there would be MANDATORY ADDITIONAL CHARGES of $17.00 per day for parking and $11.50 for use of hotel grounds (pool, beach, towel, etc.). We tried to cancel the reservations with Orbitz but hotel cancellation policy would not allow cancellation. Contacted Orbitz but they were of NO help. Hotel would also not provide any help. The mandatory charges where NOT included in the information listed by Orbitz. The hotel apparently refuses to give Orbitz this information! Hotel is nice, however, you need to be aware of these hidden charges.
