Stayed here November 2004, hotel had recently been re-furbished. Large minimalist style bedrooms, comfortable beds and superb wet room. Very trendy and stylish hotel with "nobu" restaurant in situ. Skybar is very cool make sure you dress the part! However this comes at a price you have been warned.

The Bore Club

First of all its on 20th and Collins. All the action is in the single digits and mostly on Ocean Dr. The photography for the Shore Club website is FANTASTIC, too bad the hotel is sooooo opposite. If there was a camera there to catch my expression when I walked into the lobby of this sanitarium it would have shown my extreme disappointment. Fortunately we didn't pay $400/night, but this hotel wasn't even worth $200 total. Not to mention I realized that I left my swimsuit in my room and when I phoned the next day not one person could locate it as if it just sprouted limbs and walked away. The hotel security guy Dan Dromerhauser has not even returned my calls and I guess he thinks losing a $100 swimsuit is small beans. That was my exit, and our entrance was spent doing a walk through of rooms because we were given a queen instead of a king sized bed. The concierge was rude. She behaved as if we should be gracious for even being allowed to walk those ridiculous concrete floors. Then we go to the beach and the cabana boy instructs us that we can't have the hotel's beach chairs because they are expecting a large crowd. Excuse me! We are guests! The explanation was void, but became apparent when we came across they B-list of celebs and athletes. I don't watch CNN, but money is money and I don't appreciate the staff's attitude and most of all I'm pissed that my swimsuit was filched. What's more important for all to know is that this hotel is on 20th, and all the fun is on Ocean Dr. like 15 blocks away. The Savoy is the hotel to reside in, and the rest are just a waste of time. My friend stayed there and she was there for our experience and we now all agree that if its not on Ocean Dr. then you are wasting your energy.

Beautiful hotel!! Very trendy without the crowds..cozy feel and beautiful view from our bed...More inviting than the Delano, (which made me feel like Alice in Wonderland)..at the ShoreClub I felt as if I were isolated yet still pampered..very elegant minus all the fussiness....it felt like home. For a fabulous stay in Miami the ShoreClub is a must, a PERFECT introduction to South Beach.

After reading some reviews on this site I decided to book our trip to Miami and South Beach at Shore Club. At $400 per night for an ocean view room I figured I would be getting something amazing. BIG MISTAKE.

ROOMS: Concrete Floors, White Walls, Stink of Mold, feel like you are in a mental hospital. Very uninviting, not a warm feeling at all.

POOL: Boring, Quiet, No Action, No Nothing, Everybody keeps to themselvs. Expensive Food and Drinks.

Lobby: Boring, just as cold and uninviting as the room.

Service: Just ok, nothing special

Skybar: Ok to visit one night and chill for a little, not for the whole night though. Expensive Drinks.


Was at shore club for one night then walked over to LOEWS, luckly they had room and we moved the next day for our remaining 3 nights for $100 less per night. LOEWS had a better location, better pool, better atmosphere, better room , nice lobby, everything is new. Good mix of crowd wether you are looking for a young party crowd or a family crowd. Pool is open 24/7

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Shore Club from 6/21/04 to 6/28/04. We had a blast! We got upgraded 3 times by Felix. (twice on the first night) and by our second night we where in a suite, ocean view, with a huge balcony (free upgrades). The staff was extremely nice at all times. Housekeeping cleans your room at least 3 times a day! Sky Bar is beautiful, NOBU's food was amazing. Room service is a bit pricy (2 burgers for $50) Water ($10) and eggs ($15). But...overall its worth it! When you just step on to the beach the staff is running after you to set up your towels, same at the pools. Very relaxing. I have been to South Beach 3 times prior, and this was by far the best stay yet. The hotel makes you feel like you are living in a mini community. I cannot say a single bad thing about the shore club. Great hotel, great service will be back soon.

Just spent two nights at the Shore Club and by the end of my stay, I couldn't wait to leave. Having lived in Miami for several years I was excited to stay at the Shore Club for my first trip back to the city. Everything went fine at check in... (so I thought but more on that later) but when I got to my room I was thoroughly disappointed. The floors were rough concrete and dusty... and I think all the furniture came from an IKEA outlet store. The mini bar refrigerator did not work, and the shower leaked. The pool area was nice, with nice waitresses... but the prices for drinks are out of control. This is a hotel that tries too hard to act like it is not trying too hard. The staff is completely inconsistent... for every competent person, there are 3 rude and useless employees. SKYBAR has seen its heyday... it was dead and full of tourists both weekend nights I was there... the beautiful people have definitely found a new hang out. The final straw came after I checked out... while checking my bank account online, and then calling the hotel, I found out the hotel has a bizarre policy which involves charging your credit card between $400-$600 per night for "extras" that you may in some chance use... and then are returned to your card (at the banks discretion) after check-out. A policy no one mentioned at check in. This is a hotel that claims it is 5 star, but treats its guests with no more respect than as if it was a youth hostel. Go to any of the other fabulous hotels in South Beach... you'll definitely get more for your money.

GREAT beach, ultra hip, what I expected for South Beach

I was just there for a bachelorette party and it was the perfect spot. While I think the rooms are quite sparse and the furniture looks like it is from Ikea, the beds are great and the shower can't be beat. We got upgraded into a ocean view because we asked and mentioned it was somone's bachelorette party. LOVED the beach, the chairs, towels and staff could not be better. Save yourself from paying $12 for a bottle of water and walk down to a little kiosk that they drive onto the beach with food. Pool=no breeze and too much of a "scene" for me but we loved ordering $16 mojitos in the late afternoon. Location is great to walk anywhere and staff is very helpful and security is great. Someone tried to get into our room (drunken person on the wrong floor) and security was up there very quickly. The club there, Sky Bar, is very cool. Have Jared (concierge who is the best) reserve you a spot outside so you can people watch. NOT a family vacation spot but perfect for 6 girls who were wanting to relax and have fun

Living in Miami i had the chance to have a vacation in my own city........

and althought the many negative comments i see here i must tell you what a delight The Shore Club was.

I was greeted by name by the front desk staff and door staff daily.

The bungalow was out of a magazine and the pool..............forget about it if you want to feel like you are in the South of France....guess what you are there.

The Shore Club is the ultimate in FAB Chic in South Beach, granted yes this is a relaxed environment positioned to more entertainment younger group that is in the mode for partying and chilling but anyday I would love to stay there again in Bungalow 4.........for a total chill place THIS IS IT.

And the general manager is a great added amenity..his name was Matthew and twice I met him during my stay and was so down to earth and genuine it blew me and my guest away.

Hands off to the team!

One word - Snobbish

I love funky hotels but this one tried too hard and failed. Our first room was right next to the elevator so it was loud and the toilet was broken. However, the staff was accomodating and gave us a different room. The other room was a big improvement. Very sleek and spacious. The bathroom was fabulous. Bring slippers because the rooms are not carpeted and the floor is harsh and cold. My biggest problem with the hotel is the snobbishness that is in the air. Some of it given by the hotel staff, but mainly it's the guests who stay there. People think they are at the Delano when their not. I also think the staff and the hotel try to make it a new Delano - well, it has a long way to go. If you want a decent room in an ok area, this is your place. Just don't come here thinking you'll be able to fully relax. The atmosphere falls short of true Miami style.

Shore Club. Hip, Trendy Hotel

Very hip hotel. Like all Schrager properties, they are catered to the young, hip, and wealthy. If you dont fall into two of those categories, his properties will seem unfriendly and the staff will seem aloof to you.

Shore club rooms are your typical boutique style; small and have a slight edge to them. But, the rooms are not so small where you feel claustrophobic. Stays at shore club are enhanced by Nobu, amazing day spa, and SkyBar. Not unusual to see a celebrities or models at the pool area.

Your paying the top dollar for the stylish pool area and Trendy scene, not for large spacious rooms. If rooms are important to you, stay at the Ritz or the Marriott.

Horrible Service, Loud Hallways, Rude Staff, High Prices

This place has some of the worst service I have seen at this price range. The people at the front desk are awful! The pool, bar, & beach staff take an hour to get drink or food, that is if they even can bring themselves to take an order. Ater waiting for one bottle of water it was brought to half drank!!! If you are going to charge big boy prices then provide big boy service. Service keeps people coming back not hip scenes!
The place is loud as well with doors on rooms slaming and can be heard throughout the night.

Top Local Tips for Miami

great nightlife South Beach is a great place for a long weekend. Great shopping, restaurants and the nightlife is amazing!

PLACE TO EAT---YOU HAVE TO GO TO THIS PLACE CALLED BED FOR DINNER Got to Bed for dinner. The food there is delicious but to expect to pay at least 100.00pp especially if you are going to have more than one drink. If not, it maybe a little cheaper but it was well worth it. Excellent place for dinner. There was another group right next to celebrating the soon to be bride. Fabulous place and will definitely go back!!!

Skip Nobu ---> Go next door to Bond Street For some great sushi (their Toro is the best!) skip Nobu, and head to Bond Street in the Townhouse Hotel next door. It is the perfect place to start your night before hitting the clubs, lounges, etc. You must order the Toro and the Spicy Tuna Roll!!!
