Great Place to Stay!

This was the first time I have stayed at this hotel. I visit Miami several times a year and have stayed at several places. The Royal Palm was one of the best. The staff was friendly and very courteous and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and well situated along the Collins Avenue area, only a block from Ocean Dr. The two pool areas were ideal, one more family oriented the other more private. The view as well from our oceanview room was exceptional. This is where I will stay going forward, the experience was one of my best!

Finding something better than the Ritz Plaza

The hotel staff went way beyond their duties by finding several rooms and showing them to us before we reserved. It was 2:00 am and we hated the place we were booked. The staff took us around the hotel and told us that there was deal on the Internet that we could take advantage of. The front desk person let us book a reservation online so we could save money and checked us in at 4:30 am which was generous considering they usually don't allow you in before 3:00 pm. We had a great time the hotel is centrally located. I wouldn't take a chance if you haven't been to Miami Beach, stay here or anything rated 4 stars plus.

Best location in Miami beach

My husband and I loved the location of this luxury hotel! Lincoln road is so much fun and we really enjoyed being so close! One block and we were there! The hotel was also very helpful when we needed to access the internet because we needed to print our etickets to a Miami Heat game that nite. Great place to stay!

Great location, excellent value

Had a great stay. I don't know how someone can give a review of 1 star just because the website stinks!? I thought this place was awesome. Very peaceful, great pools, great architecture, and the most friendly staff ever. You couldn't walk through the lobby without being asked if everything was OK. Excellent restaurant with view of the ocean, prices were a bit high, but that's to be expected. The resort fee was a wondeful value, $10 per day gets you umbrella, chaise lounge, towels, aloe, goggles, snorkel, whatever, on the beach. Had a great time and will stay there again in August.

Public Health Issue

The hotel is animal friendly, but some people take it too far. We were there Easter weekend and someone had there dog in the pool. Dogs should not be allowed near the pool area. I think this is a public health issue. I was sick and tied of seeing dogs all over the place. Also be aware of Portofino charging you $24.00 to rent chairs and umbrella's. The hotel side is yellow, so sit in that area, so you don't have to pay, the hotel does not tell you. But you pay a resort fee to the hotel. The hotel is overpriced like everything else in South Beach...

At Last- a Great Choice on SOBE

We have been vacationing on South Beach a couple of times a year since 1992 searching to find a hotel that was affordable, well appointed, well managed, and offered great service- all without attitude. At last the search is over. The Royal Palm Crowne Plaza was all of these things and more. The staff was attentive to every request. The rooms were very nicely decorated and most have some ocean view. The public spaces of the hotel are very attractive and although the buildings are almost entirely new, they capture the best of the art deco style and marry it well with contemporary architecture. The location of the hotel- between Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road- made it perfect. And it is on the beach. But maybe the most important thing that can be said about the hotel is that it was very quiet- something that can rarely be said about other SOBE hotels. We enjoyed a good sleep each and every night.In short, the Royal Palm offers all the perks a person on vaction wants without being too "over the top" and does it at a price that beats the other resorts along Collins Avenue that don't offer more features, just more attitude. I will return to the hotel again and again.

Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Staff!

I have stayed at many hotels in Miami, but my friends and I keep coming back to this hotel! The location is wonderful. The rooms are clean and bright. Peter and Mia at the front desk are always so welcoming and friendly that you just want to keep coming back. While the hotel isn't as glitzy as some of it's neighbors, it is more reserved and certainly a much better value. I do wish they would run the poolside towel service later into the evening. And, I know this is silly, but I think the main floor elevator area could be warmed up with some chairs or plants.

Booking at the Resort

This resort doesn't offer online services like other major resorts. Their web site ... is always under construction which makes it impossible to quickly contact the resort if there is a problem with your reservation. You are also not able to conveniently book at the resort because of their incomplete web site.

Great hotel!

We arrived at the Royal Palm Crowne plaza at about 10:30am after disembarking our cruise ship (way before check-in) . The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. She even upgraded us to a suite so we could check in right away! We loved the hotel! It is very clean, the staff was great... everyone, everywhere we went always said "hello." The pool area is very nice and the service on the beach and around the pool is defintely worth the $10 resort fee. We were very pleased with the location, as well-- just a short walk to Ocean Drive. All in all, our stay at the Royal Palm Crowne plaza far exceeded our expectations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This resort is a huge inconvenience. Their website, RoyalPalmCrownePlazaResort, has been under construction throughout the entire holiday season. Reserving rooms in advance online is not available.

Top Local Tips for Miami

Gratuity included at most places This was my first time in South Beach and I did not know that most places add a gratuity to the check. I didn't find out until after I gave a waiter a $10.00 tip before reading the check.

For a wonderful meal Go to Emeril's, the food is outstanding, the service is EXCEPTIONAL

Old hotels Many of the hotels are very old, run down and mildewed. The rooms do not look like the pictureson the internet.
