Clean, trendy and affordable

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Nassau wowed us when we walked into the room. The outside of the hotel wasn't wonderful, the lobby was cool but the room had us excited. It was super clean, trendy (what we were looking for) and did I mention clean?! We were worried because we didn't bring a radio to listen to while we were in the room but they had it covered, there was a stereo. I’ve had a few times that I've stayed in a hotel that was more expensive and looked super fancy from the outside but had to wear flip flops while taking a shower or walking around the room because it was “icky”; I, not once, got that “icky” feeling. The front staff was helpful. They provided beach chairs and towels. Within walking distance of the action. Our experience was great. I would definitely return.

awesome for the price, especially in south beach!

Me and my three friends stayed there May 2006 for 8 nights, we had a two queen-bed suite on the 3rd floor. First impression when we walked in was "wow!", very clean and nice. This is not the ritz carlton (not that i know what it looks like), but for us peeps who were on a budget this was a pleasant surprise!

I loved the bathroom, very pretty especially the sink which is like a bowl. The bathroom lock didnt work but we survived with no problems lol. The beds were comfy, but squeaky hehe. The kitchen had really nice appliances, better than my own, they dont provide a microwave in the room so u have to ask for one and we got a pretty old one.

Cleaning service was awesome, even did the dishes and the whole bit. The people at front desk was awesome, told us where to go and where to get some good sushi (down the street).

Look when i go on vacation i dont expect everything to go without a hitch, or everything to be spotless or working, but was surpsised how good everything went at Nassau. People who are --- about the littlelist things need to get a life.

Breakfast was continental and decent, bagels with real philly, good muffins (and they were low fat on top of it). They only serve coffee with creamer ( i like real milk). The internet is in the basement of the hotel and decent speed (its free so who cares).

If i go back to south beach im staying again here!

The day manager, Lily, and all of the staff provided unbelievable service to us and it appeared to everyone in the hotel. complimentary chairs(little, but free) and towels for the beach as well as small umbrellas was a nice unexpected bonus. We had an efficiency with a full kitchen which was nice to be able to have a meal not in a restaurant for a change. Recently renovated, bright and well done. Continental breakfast was not the best, but it is complimentary and it is only a block to front porch cafe for the best brunch around.

Beautiful Hotel

My husband and I were booked on a Cruise in February out of Miami. I decided to find a place to stay the night before that was reasonable. I booked the Nassau Suite Hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, some favorable some not so good. It was a wonderful experience. The People that work there were great, the suite we had was just beautiful
and very, very clean. This hotel is in walking distance to Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive. We were in Miami last year and stayed at a much more expensive hotel with a oceanview room. This hotel was just a nice as the more expensive one. We are going back to Miami in June, I plan on booking with them again.

Be cautious

from Maritel Garcia
On last September (2005) I have reserved a one bedroom suite. The sofa-bed in the living room was unable to serve as bed (the mechanism was out of order and the cover was cut in several points ), so they brought a precarious “roller bed” with an extremely thin rubber covered mattress. I have to ask for another mattress (as thin as the previous one) and piled both on the floor in order to sleep. The suite was spacious and the bed was good. The photos announced something well maintained but the bathroom walls were plenty of mould. At the moment of departure I asked for my bill, and no charges were made. I asked about the charge for using the safe box in the room (2 dollars x 3 nights=6 dollars) but they told me it had no charge. Surprise: when my credit card arrived a charge of 18 dollars were made and I don’t know why, because the telephone was never used and at the moment of departure no charges appeared in the records.

Great boutique Hotel

from Crow
I stayed at the Nassau while on a business convention in Miami Beach. At first impression this small boutique hotel has a history and charm.

However my first impressions of the initial room I was given was a disaster. Not very clean, broken fixtures and one of the main windows was missing, with nothing but a green garbage bag taped in its place, backing onto a noisy alleyway. I was told this was a remnant of the hurricane (several weeks ago).

I brought my complaints to the desk manager that evening and was going to check out right there and then, but it being 2 am could not find anything close.

First thing next morning the new desk manager offered me a different room on the 2nd floor, much the same layout, but cleaner and better appointed.

I ended up staying for a week and have to say the Hotel grew on me. The room was very affordable by Miami Beach standards, having a kitchen along with the complementary continental breakfast and wireless internet made the stay most enjoyable. The location is terrific, blocks to the convention center, Lincoln Road and the beaches.

My advice, be careful of the room you are given, as some are definitely better than others. Otherwise I would certainly stay here again.

The hotel was ok. But, I had read online that they often confirm a room with 2 beds and then when you arrive they tell you they only have a room with 1 bed. So when I made the reservation through their web site, 2 months in advance, I was very clear that we were travelling with 4 people and would need 2 beds. Well, sure enough, at arrival they said the only room available would have 1 bed. Maybe they could get us a room at another hotel. Or maybe they could find a roll-away bed. Eventually, they found 2 roll-away beds, in awful condition. The desk clerk was nice enough, but said there was nothing he could do. He also said later that he put the roll-aways in our room while we were out to dinner but that he didn't make them up because he is not very good at making beds (!) Also, the room was run down and not too clean. The hallways were very dark and had some construction materials piled in them. The breakfast was very basic - just bagels and pre-packaged muffins. Anyway, I probably wouldn't stay here again.

A boutique hotel for a great price

from TorontoMao
I stayed at the Nassau Suite Hotel for a week, attending a conference at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It was only a short walk (10 minutes max) to the Convention Center which was very convenient. I was quite impressed with the size of the room (I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite on the 3rd floor, which contains a kitchen with fridge and stove, living room with a futon and a couch, and dining room with a dining table, and a bedroom with a walk-in closet), the cleanliness and decor of the room (minimalist and modern). The staff at the hotel was helpful and nice, although housekeeping was slow at times. The breakfast was simple, but it was nice for me to be able to grab a bagel and go to the conference. There were beach chairs and towels for guests' use for free. Parking was $16 per day with in and out privileges. It was very quiet during my stay. The only thing about this hotel is that it doesn't have a pool, but with the beach a block away, who needs a pool? Definitely would stay there again if I go to Miami Beach.

Just a tip: I booked through the hotel website directly, and got a weekly rental rate which was significantly cheaper than anything I saw on other websites.

t waste your money on this place

I am sorely disappointed I stayed here. I was in room 202, and I would suggest if they ever assign you that room, demand another. Let me count the reasons:
1. Cochroaches
2. Some funky room odor
3. The A/C was sub-standard
4. The hurricane tape still on the windows
5. No battery in the smoke detector
6. The sofa had a piece of foam rubber with a white sheet for its cover, nice try, but hardly worth the nearly $200 a night price I paid through an online service.
7. The toilet ran constantly.
8. The webb site pic and this room were different, no table to eat at, no pictures on the walls, the lamps looked like yard sale quality
9. Elevator not working, I had to drag my bag down the steps myself. (No offer of service from hotel)
10. Door's security dead-bolt didn't work

Enjoyed my stay and would recommend!

I traveled with a group of 8 and booked 2 weekends at Nassau Suites. We were so pleased with the cleanliness, space, affordability, location, and friendly staff. The first weekend we had 1BR Suites on the first and second floors, which had hardwoord floors, a full kitchen, and a couch. The second weekend we had suites on the third floor, which was a little pricier, but the rooms were very art deco, had new kitchen appliances, and marble floors. So, I'd recommend trying to get a room on the third floor if you can. I highly recommend this hotel for budget travelers!!!

Top Local Tips for Miami

Give Jai Alai a try Take a break from the beach at Miami Jai Alai. My friend and I didn't know what to expect, but had so much fun watching this fast, interesting sport. We bet a little -- and lost -- but had a blast with the friendly fans. Definitely the thing to do on a rainy day in Miami.

Dollars and sense Make sure you know the cost of things ( especially drinks) before you order them.

Loved the Food! Some places to check out for food and drink are: Wet Willies, CheeseBurger, Oceans 10 (BEST CRAB LEGS!!!), Finnegans Way and Mangos! Loved them all
