Try Monty's for Stone Crabs Monty's on the Dock in Coconut Grove has the best happy hour in town. In addition to 1/2 price drinks (even Miami Vices), they have a tremendous seafood "cold bar". Giant shrimp are 3 for $1.00, Stone Crab Claws (in season) are $2.00 or 3 for $5.00. You can go have a couple of drinks and all the seafood you want for less than $15.00 per person. That's a steal in Miami....just check the prices at Joe's Stone Crabs. Happy hour is from 5 - 8 so you have plenty of time to enjoy the view....it's right on the water. Then, after 8:00 the crowd becomes very chic..apparently it's the place for singles. Warning: look at your check before you tip.....tips are usually added no matter what size the party.

Don't ganble on a hotel whose standards are not known In retrospect I should have just booked a Hilton, Hyatt, Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Sheritan, Ramada or some other well-known chain hotel who would have their own restaurant, valet service, shuttle service, pool service, room service etc. These small hotels who farm out each service to anyone who bids on them will have unpredictable service and pricing. I won't make that mistake again.

Nice and trendy restaurant in S. Beach The Grillfish (on Collins Av) is a nice place to have a drink and enjoy good fish. I like the atmosphere and the food.
