Understand that I'm not a complainer. But I thought the double tree was supposed to be a high quality hotel. First, my wife and I got put here when the airline screwed up our reservation, but that's ok we were excited about a night in Miami. After spending twenty minutes in the hot tub and pool, my wife's blonde hair turned lime green because the water was so hard. I then had to talk the bartender, kitchen worker, and front desk person into giving me lemons to get her hair back to normal and nobody spoke clear English. After that we came back to the room and I decided to get a coke, except none of the vending machines worked. We went to the front desk to order one from room service and they attempted to charge us 2.00 dollars, which we refused to do since the vending machines cost 1.75. The night is young here....but I'll add more if it comes up....

The smell---Warning Do not take your entire suitcase in the hotel if you are staying only one night as our clothes smelled horrible the entire trip from one night of staying in this place.

MIA Miami International Airport Fly into Fort Lauderdale. MIA actually means Missing In Action. Signs plenty of them, no of them saying what you need. No one there, especially employees knows where anything is. Go down stairs to get luggage, go back up stairs to get hotel shuttles and taxis, no signs anywhere to tell flyers this information. No standard area for hotel shuttles, just stand out there and wave yours down. Worst airport in the United States. Fort Lauderdale is a breeze and they have more people who fly out of it. Over all tip, Florida resteraunts are not that great. Eat cheap and save your money, nice to decent food at so-called great places to eat do not exist.

Ft Lauderdale Airport might not be worth it Depending on where you are staying flying into Ft Lauderdale instead of Miami may not be worth the cheaper ticket. A taxi from Ft Lauderdale to downtown Miami is ~$70, you can take a van for $18 but depending on traffic (which is usually awful) the ride can be several hours.
