Awful!!!!!!!
My boyfriend and I went there last summer in August, 2007. It was terrible. All of the businesses in the level appeared and though they had been damaged by a huge flood or hurricane. They were all closed up. The restaurant located in the basement was also closed up. There was loads of people just hanging outside the hotel when we first arrived that night around 8:00pm. Instead of a hotel, it reminded you of a bar setting. The show that they advertised was over before 10:00 with no additional shows for the weekend. Most of the hotel was undergoing some sort of transformation and it looked a mess from the outside to inside. The surroundings were also real "shady' Walgreenns across the street, rest of the area a mess......I would never spend that kind of money to go back there.

Worst hotel's experience to date
We were charged, and our bill was included a fee for access to the gym, the pool, etc. Although we were denied access to the pool due to maintenance works being performed, we were still charged the extra fee. Added to the inconvenience having to wait over three hours for the car rental company swapping our rented vehicle. Due to valet parkers mistaken our vehicle to that of an other guess. Did not care admitting they had made a mistake. Wasted out time in front of the hotel, senselessly.

Run while you can
TOTALLY INSANE!!! No one should be admitted into this hotel after 1957!! It has totally lost it cooling. The lobby is crying for help. (help me,) The staff has not been trained on customer service. The guest that check in willingly are probaly the local street workers. And if you are looking for a good night sleep, you better hope that they can find you a decent room. I MOVED 3 TIMES, AND STILL NOT SATISFIED. And I had a room with a balcony view, yeah right! The bed is on wheels like a cot and I gauarantee you there will be bugs sleeping with you. All night long you will either smell paint or mildew. The bar/lounge will close at 10p after they charge you an arm and a leg for poorly made drinks. What concierge service? I think that this hotel should be demolished ASAP! Do not ever stay here, unless you plan to either redecorate or bring in new talent.

Do Not Stay Here
This hotel was absolutely atrocious. Bugs in bathroom, bedding did not fit bed, cold pool, no towels, no lounge chairs, outside bar was not open once, cafe was closed, only 15% of hotel has king size beds the rest are full - when I asked to speak to a manager he denied being one. Service is non-existent. I can keep going on, but I won’t - just DO NOT STAY HERE.

Stay away from Deauville
I wasn't there in 1964 when the Beatles played, but I'm sure it looked exactly the same then as it does now. The hotel is in very bad need of renovation and the management staff needs an education in customer service.
If you dare to stay here, the location is good. Pass on the hotel food and visit the local restaurants all in walking distance (Normans, George's Italian Food, Venezio). None of which the concierge will recommend.
The pool is nice but not heated. More often than not no pool towels or lounge chairs available. If the pool bar is open, prepare for over-priced very weak drinks.
For the room, YUK!!! First to get into the room a good shoulder block was necessary. The sheets did not fit the mattresses and rarely had pillow cases. The phone did not work and no functioning electrical outlets except for the TV. AC, what AC? At least the fresh air from the open door helped to dilute the odour in the room.
I have a tough time giving this place a 1/2 of a star!
