We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this motel was for the price. All of the staff were very helpful and pleasant with any request that we had. This room ws very clean and we would certainly not hesitate to stay here again or to recomend it to our friends if they come down to Lakeland!

I'd made an online reservation for the Surburban Extended Stay Inn, Williamstown Blvd, Lakeland, Florida for 5 nights in May 2008. The staff was polite. However when I reached my room (incidentally, on the 3rd floor and a long distance from the elevator), upon opening the door, I was overcome with the stench of the stale-old smelling room, as if its door hadn't been opened in over 6 months. The moldings around the floor corners were dirty, and the kitchenette counter, table and chair were dusty with tiny white bits of lint (that showed up as white spots in under my black light, not unlike the size and shape of bedbugs, but I'm quite sure they were lint). If that wasn't bad enough, when I pulled back the covers on the bed, there were several hairs stuck to and in the bottom sheet; (the bedding was used and had not been laundered after the last guest had checked out). An instant gag-reflex woke me bolt upright as I nearly vomited at the sight of the sheets! Thank God I had my cell phone with me, and that there was a phone book in the room! I immediately reserved a room in another motel and canceled my reservation at the Surburban Extended Stay Inn. The manager issued my refund with no questions asked, and my credit appeared on my account within 24 hours.
