Top Local Tips for Kissimmee

Still very hot & busy end Aug/Sept We thought that end of August/beginning of Sept. that there would be fewer British visitors, especially with children. We hoped to have a fairly quiet flight but even after the start of term the planes, malls, and shops were full of school age children. (The behaviour of some had to be seen & heard to be believed!) We also hoped that Florida would have started to cool down somewhat but it was still 95 degrees when we returned. We spent most of our holiday on the Gulf coast which was much quieter. The beaches are amazing, especially Lido and Longboat Key which is a favourite. You are virtually alone on the white powder sand with an assortment of birds for company - especially early evening when it's the most pleasant to walk as the heat is waning by then.

Warm and uncrowded October We visited over Columbus Day weekend and the weather was warm, evenings were beautiful and the hotel was not busy at all. Breakfast in the morning and the pool were never crowded.

Convience to Disney Only 2 turns and 3 mi to Epcot parking. Get Disney transportation to other parts of the Disney complex and not have to use your car the rest of the day. They have monorail, or buses to any other parts of the park all day long.
